^Remember S/S 2009 and how ethereal it was? Or S/S 2011, which is one of my favorite collections ever. It's sad.

Whatever happened to the Rodarte that put forth those blood-drenched Kabuki dresses and the spiderweb knits? Rodarte used to be the most avant-garde and interesting NYFW showing.

Spring 2011 was a goody, as was Fall 2011. Stunningly beautiful collections, hauntingly beautiful infact, very cohesive and strong in their message. Those collections to me were like old storybooks brought to life, they had that whimsicality about them....and also a sense of innocence and mystery. I think it started going downhill when they took over from Nicholas Kirkwood and began designing their own shoes as well, that might be a coincidence
Now, I think they're a bit muddled in their direction and it shows in these collections. It's almost like there's so much going on in their heads that the trouble they're having is putting it all on paper. It's messy, I don't know how else to put it.

Some of the dresses, on the wrong girl, can look extremely dowdy! Who would that be?

This collection is for willowy girl!

This is still tragic. They should stop taking inspiration from thrift shops and pseudobohemian vintage attires.

Yeah but it's sort of more their thing, I'm just grateful that last season appears to be completely dead.

Major improvement from last season which was just bizarre. The last two black dresses are gorgeous. I love all the sparkly berets and coats. The rest is very hit and miss. Some awful fabrics.

But even as a die hard Star Wars fan I'm not sure what to think about the last set of gowns. Am I missing the point. Is this a bid to design the costumes for the next lot of sequels.

i guess... it's better than the past couple of seasons... but it's still a mess. the first looks got me almost excited, it's like a 360 from whatever last season was... but then it started getting real ugly. a few nice looks here and there but nope. i miss the days when rodarte used to be one of the shows i mostly looked forward to

i don't mind the star wars gowns, lol, but what is it with them and george lucas? are they related or something cause i remember him attending their shows in the past. wtf?

^ According to the girls the collection is about nostalgia of their childhoods, and Star Wars is their favorite franchise so that's why that was thrown in.

I thought they were onto something with that cut-and-paste style from a few years back. But they moved past that..sadly.

Mess as a usual RODARTE.
It will be difficult for buyers to pick up few nice sellable pieces from it.

It's intriguing I mean I spot mess and beautiful pieces in one collection. Anyway it's not bad as a whole I like vintage vibe of this collection though.
