HUH?! I think that paying that money for a t-shirt is crazy to begin with, especially from two teenagers with almost no experience and barely any education.

I think I have pretty good taste too, but I wouldn't expect anyone to pay 150 dollars for anything I designed.

morgan,
working as a buyer for high end fashion i must agree that 150$ retail for a tee isnt much at all (that will be around 60$ approx lets say).. and i am assuming they are targeting the more exclusive side of fashion this time regardless of what they've done previously.
at 150$ a tee i dont even see it next to the demicouture brands like david szeto, giles etc but more marc by marc, see by chloé etc..
would be interesting to see where there are placed in barneys

I can't wait to see more pics of the line - I think the couture techniques mentioned in Vogue sounded great!

Also, there was an article in Harper's Bazaar a while ago about how young It girls are now the fashion icons - so I think the line will have appeal to older people in 20s and 30s who are after investment quality clothing and not just wanting to idolise a celebrity.

Leyla... In regards to where they decided to put them in Barney's, they for some reason made (what I feel) is the really bad choice of putting them on the non-designer knitwear/lingerie floor. I think it should have been merchandised with co-op (ie: marc by marc, like you said), considering the youth appeal. The problem is that $150 is really the bottom end for the line, most of the tees that are longer or more complicated in design go for $300-$500, which is too high for Co-Op.

i completely agree with cloud 9
even though the celebrity design lines are inappropriate for the industry on the whole, the olsen's line seems fairly simple and not striving to make radical fashions. they love the clothes of everyone else, this just seems like great filler.

those pants look great on Selma and will look good on the rest of young hollywood but they are very 'now' and I can't see them looking good on too many people. Satin and super skinny.

I am curious to see the whole collection. again, as most people have mentioned, hopefully it will be much better than any of those celebrities line..actually, seeing how they dress, i am sure it will be great ;-)

In the first picture Ashley looks like she copied her entire outfit from Stella McCartney.

Im sure we will be hearing alot of comparison backlash. Obviously they have alot of inspiration a d they are constantly compared to Kate Moss, and now their line "The Row" I believe will be compared to certain designers.
Personally, I think these girls are geniuses and have their own taste and I can't wait to see more of the collection!

Has anyone here bought any of The Row clothes? I mean I would have thought someone had, hasn't it been out for a few weeks now?
