Somehow I would never imagine that dress came from L'Wren Scott.

I totally agree zamb. Just because you are a good/decent/great stylist does not mean you should be designing clothes. Net-a-porter will be carrying her collection as well but why would I buy it?! Seriously.

Susie have you seen the collection up close ?

I can't help it, the woman intrigues me...Vogue wrote a very flattering article about her and her collection..

Extract from Br. Vogue November 06

Quote:
..Scott is wearing some of her perfectly honed clothes - sleek pieces with a smattering of goth Victoriana - soon to be available at Couturelab.com and Net-a-Porter.com.
"I'm calling the collection Little Black Dress," she says, "although it's not just dresses: 20 pieces, three pairs of shoes that Christian Louboutin made for me, jewellery and a handbag. I started designing because, even though I am endlessly looking at clothes, there are still items I can't find. I've been making things for years to fill the gaps in peoples wardrobes, so I decided to design a few pieces and see how it went."

...

Now we are in L'Wren's closet and what she does is becoming much clearer than the vague term 'stylist' suggests. It is highly specific, in fact. She is showing me what is ostensibly the simplest piece in the word - a knee-length black dress suspended on rouleau straps - but up close you can see it is built by someone who understands the technicalities of couture and how a dress must perform. The interior bust line is curved and panelled in satin, so you wouldn't have to wear a bra, while two little weights sewn into the hemline cancel the risk that it might ride up at the back.
"I tested all the prototypes myself - walking, sitting - to see how they behaved," she explains. "Unbelievably, I was unable to find a little black dress I liked. I don't want a paper-thin piece of jersey, and I don't want to feel my *** moving when I walk across a restaurant!"
All L'Wren's designs have hidden secrets, including velcro tabs in the shoulder to tether bra straps, the option of integral sleeves (in her very sexy Headmistress dress) and leaf-embroidered cashmere bolero to deal with "you, know, arms. So many of my girlfriends hate theirs." Then there are the jeans, which come in several chic and rockin textures, but the main trick is in the centre seam. "So, your legs get to look even longer!" she grins slowly.
...

I have saw some of the pieces in Vogue UK, it looked allright, but it was nothing you could't get somewhere else.
But I do love the way she looks, she is so tall and skinny...

yes Hanne, I read the article as well. For some reason I appreciate her work more after reading the article, and I understood where she is from. She definitely looks good in those clothes...although I have to judge after seeing clothes are a regular girl's body. Her body is just too perfect

After reading the Vogue article, I'm quite interested. I found it on CoutureLab.com. I posted some photos of the more interesting pieces.

It is REALLY plain. But that seems to be her aim. It sounds like the sort of line that one has to see in person to appreciate the quality, construction, etc.

I had higher expectations though. Not sure why. Its a nice, basic, coheasive collection.
