I was at the show.....and to me it compared unfavourably to Junya (which I was also at). The knits were amazing but the rest of it seemed like i have seen it before (either at Comme or Junya). Its like Junya is forging ahead whilst she is snapping away at his heels (well I guess she is his protege). Close up some of the fabrics looked quite cheap - in particular there was a silver dress with black sea urchins on it and looked like a really cheap fabric.

The knits are really pretty, and I love the denim pieces. But somehow, this doesn't seem quite as strong conceptually as some of her past collections.

It successfully evokes the gorgeous, horrifying and liberating collapse of a perfectly constructed layer-cake timed to the bride walking away from an arranged marriage. Tao has made quirky cuteness more punk-rock than Limi's aggressive posturing. And you know the pieces will have even more character when seen in the stores.

so textural
nice with all the threads hanging
curious though, if the frayed edges and loose threads are a little fragile
it doesn't seem very stable ?
it might all come undone in the wash
