I really, really like the cuts and silhouettes. but I am not feeling the prints. If there were more solids and/or a different, perhaps more restrained prints, this would have been a much better collection.
I like the mix and match of different patterns, and there are some very interesting dresses, but some pieces are way too.. shiny. The cowboy hat is something I could hold on to though. I can already picture it everywhere next spring!
Granny-chic cowgirls go on a spiritual pilgrimage to India (much like John, Paul, George and Ringo circa 1967). I hope Thakoon took the prudent step of sending out acid tabs with the invitations. This must surely look better under the influence of hallucinogens. Or something.
as some others have noted, I don't think it's that bad either. there are several pieces that are good, and they salvage the collection. so it's not a total wash
the styling is so bad (i hate those hats) that i was trying at first to salvage my image of the collection by scrolling down and obscuring the models' heads so i wouldn't be distracted...
but even then, the few good bits were overwhelmed by terrible things that they were paired with.
some of the prints aren't bad and i saw a few things i would actually wear, but this presentation is just an assault on the eyes

After watching the video, I like this collection better, particularly the East Indian stuff at the end and some of the separates. I will concede that I even like some of the printed looks that I criticized in a previous post, but after a while there are so many different ones and it is just too much. It is not lacking in good ideas, but there are too many of them both on the design and styling front that it it becomes an assault on the senses.
