What a freakin' masterclass of styling. This is the perfect mariage between couture sensibility and real-world practicality. One of my favorites of the week for sure.

YES! thank you for building a home for this, RedSmokeRise.

He got me at those Junya Watanabe Fall 2000 shapes. I almost don't want to look too much till the videos is up at vimeo . To me this is just the right balance of fashion at his best.. some level of theatricality, beautiful pieces, substance, designs that remind you this is fashion design week and not styling week or your new closet week.. input, identity and still some realism blended into little garments. Uh huh I'm in.

This is everything. It's even better than FW16.
It looks like a very mad ceremonial or a parade of very interesting nomads.
Those techniques are not new in the context of "japanese" fashion but it's always exceptionnal to see that handle with such taste & quality while still being quite daring when at the same time, in couture weeks, you see garnments from very respected fashion houses not up to even 2% of what is shown here.

I WOULD LOVE TO OWN THAT ICE BLUE KNITTED PIECE! It's insane!

when fashion can still excite me and make my mind run wild and daydream... you know it's a winner. this is a fantastic collection, it's extravagant without being gimmicky, it's wonderful as a whole and incredible upclose, the details, the styling - everything works. a true winner.

thank god there's still some designers out there making us dream without resorting to vomiting 356 overstyled ~quirky looks and trying to pass it as 'creative'

Thanx for posting this RedSmokeRise. These days it's easy to forget why we were interested in this business anyway. This was exceptional.

The full video is finally up! Always nice to see there's still a place for this sort of fashion. The finale section starting at 13:58 is fantastic.

vimeo/undercover

Also I apologize for the small thumbnails in the first couple posts LOL. Didn't realize how small they'd be viewing on a desktop.

Jonny, that's where you belong ..

Glad he finally got them (cause it was just a song in '14), even though, as much as I like Thom and I know this is an upgrade from his Rag & Bone involvement, Jonny alone would've given more.. purity, to this. Lovely music anyway, when it first started I was thinking why does this sound so beautiful to my ears, and what's the right scenery to amplify this feeling?

The collection is beautiful in motion, especially with the movements of the model at the end. I was looking at Branquinho earlier (ballet inspired?) and now this and it makes me wish contemporary dance companies like maybe Millepied's would collaborate with them at some point, fashion in this runway, 15 minute format is simply not enough for the language contained in their creations, it always leaves you wanting more.. more movement, story, drama, the intensity you see in dancers.. and dancers are always struggling for garments and end up in some old gaudy rag.

Thanks, my dear! Karma to you.

Those Japanese pattern-makers are, seriously, no joke. I'd love to get a glimpse inside their workroom. Where's that Loic guy and his Day Before camera-crew when you need one?
