I actually like a lot of the pieces!
But whenever I see a colour that's kind of close to the Valentino red, I think "just a little bit more!"

Only the longer dresses look nice. The shorter ones fit weird and are so dull.

I appreciate the new Valentino. Someone has to make the looks that will unanimously be panned on the red carpet for dowdiness.

What I find interesting in this collection is that it feels much more grown up. Of course, there are elements of their "new" Valentino girl, but I also see a different kind of woman in this collection. That daywear seems very mature in some way. The coats and the furs; those are pieces that you could easily see on the "old-world Valentino" customer, and well as the newer generation.

I truly appreciate that they don't change their aesthetic drastically with each season. A slight update of the aesthetic is much more alluring than a complete change. In this regard, they have positioned themselves at the forefront of a more classic, luxurious and essentially timeless fashion front. And for this rejection of 21st Century fashion trendiness, I will forever admire their work.

Bravo.

i think a lot of these clothes are really beautiful...
probably not what you would think of in terms of "Valentino" and his legacy, but I don't find them boring either... maybe consistent is a better word?
they're lovely, wearable clothes and i'm guessing they sell well

i agree with softgrey though... would have loved to see some valentino red in there somewhere

This brand is not evolving from collection-to-collection: same floral embellishments, same heels, same blush tones, same dress cuts, same bow placement, etc. A few pieces like the leather trench coats and the printed teal/monarch butterfly colored dresses offer a glimpse at something new they could have potentially explored, but unfortunately they left with us with the humdrum.
