I love it. This is way more to my taste than their previous collections! It's still ultra feminine but not as little girly. Best of all, it looks like couture and seems like it would be stunning in person. I especially love the penultimate gown on Patricia and the red dresses. I'm getting kind of a medieval feel throughout.
This is the first collection since this duo started that I've enjoyed. It's certainly not Valentino as we once knew it but it's better than the girly pap they indulged in before.
That's how I feel about this collection, it might not seem outstanding, but underneath it all, I feel they're starting to know what to do with Valentino - and hopefully their growing confidence will also translate into a stronger depiction of women in their adverts.
At the very least, I hope they continue to stay away from those frills, which always remind me of jellyfish.

Well, I actually prefer this to what Valentino had been doing. I loved last season and I love this one and this is probably the most relevant couture show of the season, it is one of the few that actually assumes that couture is meant to be WORN. Its specialness is subtle, it's magnificence is discreet. I love the 60's and 70's references, reminds me of Vreeland era Vogue and old Oscar De La Renta, Jean Louis Scherrer, and Mary McFadden. So good, its got quite the mood, too.
It's really hard to hate this because all the pieces are so beautiful, delicate, fresh. But I can't bring myself to really like because it lacks personality. It's crazy but the only collection of theirs that sticks out in my mind is that one HC collection that's probably considered the weakest by many where models had that awful hair/makeup. I hate(d) it too, but looking back, it's the only one that evoked any feelings from me, albeit be it negative feelings at the time. But as cliche as it may sound, that collection had personality. This one (and most of their collections) does not. And I'm not even talking about Valentino personality, whose collections, love them or hate them, were vibrant, alive, his. This duo, while obviously capable of producing beautiful pieces, breath no life into their creations.

the runway is kind of distracting but im loving the collection, those sheer scarf make me faint away, too delicate. but i still prefer HC FW10. It was sharp, it was well-calculated yet still capricious. Forever my most favorite collection. I just like this season more than the last one
