I abhor their seemingly preferred colour palette.

Otherwise many of these dresses I deem interesting. Repetitive, yes of course, yet their ethereality for some reason always reminds me of the Incroyables et Merveilleuses period, and I love this.

Here's a famous merveilleuse, in Haute Couture of the era:

Joséphine de Beauharnais.

It's beautiful but this is not Valentino. And what the hell are these ruffles? They may love them because I see ruffles everywhere!

You must be reading my mind. This is exactly how I feel. Plus I don't care about this Valentino anymore. As long as it's going to look like this I simply don't care.

Valentino needs to come out of retirement, those clowns are ruining the label

very sophisticated collection, love the earthy tones and the break with the deep blod red(valentino red?).

the delicate and wonderfully executed evening dresses are divine. much better than last seasons birdcage mess!

It looks exactly like the Ready to Wear collection. Pretty but not overwhelming like HC.

This is beautiful and delicate and above all it feels modern yet timeless at the same time. I suppose their success as designers boils down to their ability to imbue their work with a fusion of classic and modern sensibilities.

The detailing, from what I can see, looks exquisite as always. The finish on the clothes and the embroidery is quite beautiful. I can't wait to have a closer look.

This reminds me a little bit of Valentino's "White Collection" in a way. The lack of colour draws the attention to the detailing of the pieces but on an aesthetic level, it feels like a breath of fresh air. Their work really does impress me with the way in which they reject trends and expectations. Thank god they don't close their shows with the "Valentino red gown". What a bore that would be!

It's the same collection over and over again... Missed opportunity once again. Better next time?

I agree with you, I loved valentinos white collection, was that around 05? or older? I remember a great one from that time and it took my breath away.

yes, it would be a bore to see a red ending actually. hehe

oh jesus can't they do anything besides ruffles and bows in light colours? there are some really cute dresses again. the valentino woman has never been a cute delicate girl in her early 20s though.

I knew the debate would be if this is couture or not but that's boring season after season. It is what it is...beautiful dresses!
