My problem with this isn't the colors, it's the silhouettes!!!! They have been using the EXACT same shapes for the past 6 or 7 collections (including couture). I'm tired of them taking a dress with only 4 seams and tacking some lace on it.
I totally what are you saying. I actually down mind if the palette is repetitive but the silhouettes and shapes are very similar and it seems they have run out of idea. Though I can see slight improvement of the "new" Valentino since I'm not putting my hope on for a bright and vibrant or, at least, different, collection. Here we have beautiful dresses and gowns with demur palette and lace appliqués but if it's going to be like this for like another 5 or 6 years and younger people who are not digging Valentino archive will think this is Valentino. Yes, Valentino himself produced gorgeous softer collections but it's fun and vivacious.
They seem terrified of moving away from the Valentino "look" and experimenting, so it's the same old...nonetheless, much more refined aesthetics than the other bore, Chanel.
Auto-pilot is the phrase to use when describing Valentino. Garavani can't honestly approve of this. I just don't understand how he hated Alessandra's designs but cosigns on this dreary bullish!t. It's madness.
