To be honest, the frayed tweed jacket/vest outfits are not my cup of tea, and I find it too A/W but I love the layered outfits with a very modern hint of the medieval, especially the ones with the "capes". However, I bought a navy wool cape recently, it looked great on the mannequin, but when I wore it out, I can't help feeling a bit silly, like donning an early Halloween costume...Dracula.

What's lovely is the romance about it, the shoulders are out but nothing's slipping down, everything's still in control.

I dunno,Zazie...the frayed tweeds are really classics established by Chanel....in spite of how mainstream they've become,I do like her play on the classic. The cutting of them are really lovely. As for Dracula.......well,nothing like a bit of drama now and again....personally,that one coat-cape after the coat .francesca mentioned,I'd wear that-I rather like the image of it sweeping in the wind as I walk...would really make me feel rather confident.

Yeah, I know, I want to wear the cape to some wind-blown forsaken castle in Scotland like a McQueen heroine. Instead, I end up smattered in beer at the sticky, hot local club.

PARIS, October 5, 2005 – One of the last looks in Véronique Branquinho's spring show exemplified the kind of effortless, understated chic for which the label has always stood—a dark charcoal dress that fell almost trapeze-like from the bust to the knees, with deep pleats down one side of the body. Trenchcoats and sheaths with built-in capes looked similarly cool, especially when paired with bicep-grazing black leather gloves: It was easy to imagine the hipper members of the audience thinking to themselves, "Good idea."

There weren't a lot of those to go around, though. Sweatshirt-gray jerseys and fine-gauge sweaters worn with pencil skirts were pretty enough, but hardly earthshaking, and there were too many jumpsuits with elasticized waists. The smartly tailored tuxedo pants and smoking jackets that closed the show were winners, but not so the mint-color strapless leotards and leggings Branquinho showed with the majority of the collection. They looked like what they were: styling gimmicks whipped up to distract from a dearth of strong concepts.
few faves

love how she's using the green shoes but in general imo is not her best collection ever.. regardless the genious cape shapes ..
black leather gloves for a ss collection? why really?

AHH I love this I'm at school so I can't behave how I feel but I want to .... do something. It's so good! Absolutely one of my faves of the season.

Armholes like these seem to become a trend. Can't place it, but it always reminds me of eggs :p

i have to agree with the rest, this definitely her best collection ever, everything seems flawless. also, the last tops in post #41 is like an ode to helmut lang or somewhat.

Oh my, this is brilliant! The tree print is so mysterious, I love it. The green shoes, gorgeous and the dresses too. Definetly her best
Thanks for posting more pics Scott!

crap....i'm really disappointed...
turns out that the built in cape was the best and pretty much only interesting part of the colleciton for me....

the rest was just basic and mostly uninteresting separates...
what a disappointment...

**although the cape dress is still very lovely...

Yes, softgrey, I feel the same too, and this cape thing isn't even new - I lost out on a bid on eBay for a vintage 50s cape/coat that was an exact clone of the black coat/dress in post 52, except it had buttons. I wish I hadn't underestimated the fashion savvy of eBayers...
