it's like she's gone into my head and combined my strongest interests of the past few years...tree prints, capes, and green shoes. i am definitely pleased.

Well, at least she's learned a few new tricks. I love the pleated looks, and the colorblock print. But otherwise it's just another Branquinho-by-numbers collection: nice, wearable, 80s-inflected. Design-wise, she still has a ways to go before I wil consider her anything but a genious stylist-cum-glorified basics designer.

Droogist is back! I missed you (heading over to "What are you wearing today?") I can't say I disagree with your overall profiel of VB. Would you say the same about Jil Sander (I know I would )?

Aw, faustie! Missed you too.

I know what you mean about Jil, but I wouldn't put her in the same category as VB. Jil's collections might have looked pretty similar from one season to the next, but I never got the feeling that she was simply repeating herself; I think her collections evolved very organically over the years. But Veronique's collections seem too reliant on details - the "stylist's tricks" mentioned in the style.com review - to make them distinguishable from one another.
