I'm curious - what's disappointing you about this collection? what's feeling flat about it? (not trying to criticize your reaction, I'm really just curious!)
since you asked...
not loving the colours, the silhouettes with their lack of structure, and the shoes...
the lack of make up is especially unattractive with the nude coloured looks...
everything just washes out and goes flat---nothing stands out or pops...
yes- the arm cuffs are cool- but the fact that the bracelets are the best bit of a clothing collection is a disappointment imo...
fyi- the looks that i do enjoy most are the second set of images in post #3...
those are graphic and elegant and i'd happily wear all three...

Thanks for the reply, softgrey! I was curious about why you didn't take to this collection, too I'm still ambivalent about this. The colors look different on style.com, though, and seem to have more conviction. On the other hand, a number of the looks here lack polish, although I appreciate how she has retained several elements and staples from her past work.
^that dress is the first look I saved...it's perfect.
unfortunately, firstview, which has lots of back shots, doesn't have that one...
but i'm guesing, based on the others, that it will be cut at least to the middle of the back, as she likes to do. i'm curious about the sheer bit I see peaking out from the back of the shoulders though.

the back of this dress is indeed interesting...
as are a number or the rear views...
it's odd---
she spoke about making a collection that is more 'accessible'...
which i assume means less expensive and easy to wear for most figure types...
however- from the rear view, it is clear that most of these looks must be worn without a bra, which i think deems them unwearable for the majority of her customer-
which would be serious women (aka-without boob jobs) over the age of 30 yrs...
i know this might be something that the boys on this board don't consider, but it is a pretty big deal...
yes-
the designs are simpler, so they probably cost less to produce...
but if you can't wear a bra with most of them, then they still won't sell, at any price...
right?
odd design decisions, especially from a female designer...
you'd think she'd consider this sort of thing a bit more...
i still think she's at her best when she does her tailored pieces---
the pants suits are really very nice...
as are some pieces in the black and white section...
though that maxi skort/cullotte/side slit pants thing is a major misstep imo
