Another disappointing collection. They had one decent one, I think it was SS10 with all those cutouts in skirts, but other than that, I can't remember the last time they had a good collection. Maybe the one where the girls had to carry their own lights?

Wow I'm actually liking this. Is it their best work? Hell no. I don't think we're ever gonna see the Vikitor & Rolf of their early day, which is sad but I like this a lot more than what they've been putting out lately. The fall collection was crap to me, and I hated the last spring collection. But this is pretty fun to me, and maybe that's why I like it

Oh they have really arsed it up this time. There are one or two reasonable looks, but it is all too costumey, and it looks pretty cheap too.
I'm expecting to see lots of this in a local fancy-dress store soon. As a staged spectacle it's fine, as actual wearable garments it's not.

It's very costume-y isn't it? Like Willy Wonka and the Borrowers teamed up on a collection. As a teeny bit of theatre, fine. As something that will easily translate into the marketplace, no.
I hate how they take an idea and they beat it to death in such a gimmicky way as opposed to developing it evolving it. In this case, it is the ties through the grommet which are so overused.
I do, however, like the baroque filigree motif with the mesh on the skirts and dresses.
