Wu Yong F/W 07.08 Paris
Statues crossed with Tales from the Crypt - certainly not something that appeals to all, but nonetheless very fascinating!

Oh my God!
I am so stunned I don't know what to say! This is the type of collection I love! I would love to see/know more of this designer!

I'm glad! He's an amazing Chinese designer, and this sweeping, cryptic style is typical of his work...but the presentation this season is breathtaking as well

Oops! Instead of "He," I should've said "Ma Ke, the current designer for the WY label..."

I don't know if any of this makes good fashion but it's certainly exciting.

^Ma Ke is the current designer for Wu Yong (無用 ; Literally means "Useless"). She's one of two new designers from China (The other being Frankie Xie for Jefen) showing in Paris this season

Here's something about her from FashionWindows:

Quote:
Designing under the label Wu Yong, Chinese designer Ma Ke will unveil her newlabel ‘Wu Yong’ (Use-Less) in Paris, her latest endeavor, a creative result of her move towards the Chinese seaside, 200 km from Canton.

Setting up a creative lab and workshop for artisans and craftsmen, Ma Ke took a philosophical view of fashion with Wu Yong, which is based on the design philosophy, ‘archaism and violence mean rebirth and poetry.’

Wu Yong is Ma Ke’s third label. For the past 10 years, Ma Ke, together with her husband and business partner has been a running a successful fashion house that creates and markets the labels ‘Mixmind’ and ‘Exception.’

Ma Ke is known in China for her silent, organic and reflexive clothing that is more creative and experimental in shape.
