Yamamoto opts for variations on the red and black, sublimates the wise person lines (black or white) with a tearing detail, stacks pleated skirts of two different lengthes, dares frivolities with these pompoms which rock on ankles !! I like this first show for Paris.

Even for a fashion triathlete like Yohji Yamamoto — who shows three collections in Paris every season — plain old sports clothes can get boring. So for his latest collection for Y-3, which he does in collaboration with Adidas, the designer said he “wanted to do something a little more rock ’n’ roll.”
And how. The designer strolled in to his presentation — staged in a Left Bank apartment — just before midnight on Monday to inspect looks inspired by America in the Fifties. Models wearing puffy pink satin skirts with motorcycle embroidery and bowling jackets lined with Hawaiian prints roamed from room to room, stopping occasionally to lounge on the colossal couches. Needless to say, they didn’t break a sweat in this sport collection. Nor would they in Yamamoto’s latest swimwear, meant more for the poolside than the pool. “Some of my pieces can be shown in museums, others in boutiques, and this collection is best taken to the streets,” the designer said.
