This collection is SPECTAUCULAR!!
George Washington, the Puritans, the Quakers, and the Pilgrims.....visit Japan, with Yohji. Love the brocade prits mixed with athletic footwear....a sence of the 1980's with some of the oversized shoulderlines and zip-front shoes. I love it!! |

via uberhaupt at mh via menstyle.it I have to say, with this collection, at first I was a bit like...what? Especially because the first things I saw where the loud patterns of the beginning, which I didn't and still don't like much. But then I saw the rest, and affter looking at it for a second, I realized it's one of the best collections I've ever seen. It's themed so brilliantly, with the inspiration coming from Colonial America, but it's not smack-you-in-the-face obvious with the majority of the looks, except those ones that really look like Pilgrims. And Yohji is unique among designers in that, unlike almost all others, it lies somewhere in between wearable and unwearable. Some runway fashion is just so normal to me I don't understand why it needs a runway. And some is purely art, almost no one would ever wear it. But this, this is both art and wearable at the time. helt vacker yohji |

I think this is such incredible. I absolutely love the florals and prints. the influence really shines through, but like pmplmus617 said, it's not so obvious that it's costume-like.
i really do love absolutely everything ![]() |

AH-MAZING! Really lifts my spirits in these times of design.
