Though perhaps it's interesting to react to the current state of the world in this way. Everywhere else, designers are offering up escapism and happiness and white cheesecloth with ruffles. Yohji's kinda saying "Wait, it's not that easy". The world is hard and tough, why shouldn't your clothes match? It's an interesting proposition...

I totally agree with the guerrilla/aggressive descriptions put forth by posters above me in this thread...I like that Yohji is going with a darker mood when everyone seems to be on that cute/happy vibe. Aside from the camo prints, I think this is brilliant, as is the usual for Yohji womenswear. I especially love the outfit with the baggy raw denim trousers.

but,
Dont like alot of it. Way too abstract, and detailed. Looks like a sci-fi alien movie set.
Some of the quiter simpler elements are ok. The dragon dress is cool.
major points for being innovative, but as far as attractive, or useable... I'm not feeling it.
on the contrary, i think it's actually very insightful to post if you think you don't know everything! it's probably a bit truer to nature, esp. representing the view point that not everyone will intellectualize clothing to death! i always was under the impression yohji never wanted his clothing to be a chore

I wish that lovely dress wasn't ruined by the camouflage.
hair, makeup, the dragon coat/dress and of course that blue.

It is favored by the bag ladies in my neck of the woods ... I'm going to keep these designers in mind in case I ever really want to piss Valentino off

I third that.

Not as crazy about all the rest of it, though.

that's a very interesting point you bring up, but i'm not sure i fully understand the meaning behind this (sorry i'm kinda sluggish right now). Does it mean that Yohji never intended, when making his designs, to have its wearers to think too much about the clothing after putting it on? Like his philosophy is almost functional in a sense...?
