in japan JB generally refers to james brown. :p

in a way, yohji is the study of motion of air (or atmosphere) around you,
and also here how he can lay bare part of your skin or leave it bare.

Thanks for the fashionjp pictures runner; it's nice to see some shots from behind. Sigh... loving this collection even more, if possible. It is really sexy.

Very summerish ... Like you have this black sheer thing on you and just your bikini under it and bam you take it off ... Or put it on ... And look gorgeous ...
Not really 'english' - more Indonesian, or Malay - but, Sarongs?

Save the real sexy is that they're resolutely, imo, urban sarongs here. Though, unless I dare, I'll probably wait til hols to try to get away with one myself - ala David Beckham in the 90's. Maybe

I agree the collection has sexy - if you want to pull out the show knickers shots - with the sheer sarongs - a peek of cheek etc. Though it's not superoverobvious about it - which of course is all the sexier. And of course the army greens and, in fact, many looks, are 'about' other moves and grooves. It's just the way some people are focusing But I shan't complain. Sexy season.

I'm warmed to warm collections, that speak of a summer of spiritual love. I didn't look well enough at this in the hectic onslaught of shows. It can join in on what I'm channeling. Of the top of my head for atm even glues somewhere between Miuccia, Phoebe, Haider, Rick

i like that little story you created runner...
...

thanks for the additional pics as well...
i was trying to find a video or some rear shots because i know that the rear view is so important with yohji and also the movement, as you mentioned...

i'm so excited about REGULATION...
makes perfect sense for yohji to do a collection that is specifically military since there is such a strong military influence in his aesthetic...
seems like it would be great!...
those khaki/olive looks are so cool...

those strappy tunic dresses have my attention as well...
he's been doing a version of this for several seasons now and i think these are the best of the bunch so far...

i also wonder about wearing a dress with a train...
it's just so good with the flat shoes...

yohji said he hates jewelry in his book...
i know this isn't real jewelry---but still...
it's odd...

though i happen to think it works really well with the look i just posted...

OMG---that is too funny!...

OT*
he just got a bunch of new toys, actually...
he is getting a little chubby so i think he needs to play/exercise some more...
...

but i love the idea of YY cat toys...
gucci and brands like that do pet accessories---hideous though they may be...
though i have to say that i think Mr B would have been the perfect model for some YY pet stuff...he had that certain quality about him...
the black thing...

Extremely beautiful. I love the continuity with the sexy aesthetic of last season. Yohji is always sensual, but the embrace of the sexy here is wonderful. It's not vulgar sexuality but the kind of sexuality that is full-bodied and natural. Sinuous shapes cut close to the body, fabrics so light, thin, and delicate that it's the form of the female body that becomes the true silhouette of the collection.

As for the aviator outfits, I'm thinking of Amelia Earhart and the freedom and feminine energy she embodied. Yes, an aesthetic throwback to Yohji's use of military codes, but also a channeling of female sexual power for a (literally) higher purpose. I mean, what more masculine domain is there than dreams of flying, of planes, of the skies.

I'm guessing the accessories act as some kind of visual ballast and counterweight for the buoyancy of the clothes.

Someone might shout blasphemy at this or call me an uncultured pleb [rme] but apart from the aviator outfits, this collection is nondescript and repetitive. He must be feeling very cosy in his comfort zone.

It's a dull, grey tunic.

Morphe, no one would shout blasphemy. but it seems to me that he now is being outside what you call comfort zone.

softgrey, black ones for Mr B, grey ones for Mr Mochi

if it is true that in one's later work the subjective somewhat draws back, it definitely has something to do with his declared abolition of his old rules. those taboos that once were set by himself. maybe he is trying to lacerate his identity so that he extends beyond, farther. I think it's good if it is some hint of death instead of flaccidity/weakness that he gets at the expense of his coherence.
as for the yarn necklaces, there is some poetry about them as always, but in my eyes it's buddhistic one.

My favourite of the aviator set is the second one in, with the cropped jacket, and i am in love with all of the red looks.
