thanks runner. its so beautiful, and those images capture the levity precisely. i've seen much of this, this season and the fabrics and ethereal cuts have me completely enamored with the collection. best from yohji in quite some time...

i'd like to wear the canvas that is thrown over the easel...
...

...

thanks for showing us all of this runner...
interesting to see the artwork used in this context...

"a beauty looking back"...
even the title conjurs great imagery and mood...
so sweet and charming...

love this image esp
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/att...7&d=1365093736

is that the new perfume...
or should i say the old perfume that has been re-released...?
have you smelled it runner?
do they have it there in the store?

i'm just curious...
i don't wear much perfume, but i used to wear Issey Miyake mens and now i like some armani that my cousin gave me...
I just wonder what Yohji would like for a woman to smell like...
...
he has such definite ideas of what is sexy or attractive...
it makes me wonder about the scent...
:p

i am so taken with that skirt that's in the last image of post 59.

have you come across it in your shopping, lucky? or runner maybe you know something about the fabric, etc.?
I feel like it captures that evanescence you referred to so perfectly...

i also think they did a very nice job photographing the looks on figure...
quite an excellent collaboration between store and designer...
it's a lovely little yohji universe...

hi laika, i did come across a very similar version and it is once again very ethereal, like most of what i have seen so far. the texture is silky and semi sheer with the most subtle hint of floral embroidery. it doesnt have the netting but a draped tail in the back and a drawstring waist. ivory on ivory.
very wearable in a silk/rayon/linen mix. most of what i have seen has been composed of this incredible soft, pliable linen and its heavenly .

thanks, lucky.

i'm not necessarily interested in wearing it, i just thought,
as an object, that it expresses the mood of the collection so beautifully
kind of like the driftwood jewelry!

laika, the fabric of the version used in the image/on the runway is embroidered 100% rayon with chemical dissolution.

softgrey, the canvas thrown over the easel is something for sale, an one-off shirt by his own hand.
the leather vest (there is also jacket) has nothing to do with this S/S 2013 collection, limited archival edition, actually hand-painted (not by himself though) as you say.

it seems that what he finds attractive is a certain cologne he got to know in noth africa long ago and the act of women sprinkling it on the skin.
the stuff in the flower bottles (hand-painted again) is herb water.

as for the mannequins (made specifically for this campaign) and wigs, maybe they like it a bit creepy, scary and funny in an unfathomable way. not only just serious and beautiful.
there are banana mascots you see available there.
isetan's explanation of the item: "banana is a great favorite of yohji yamamoto"

ah, so he used chemicals to get that effect on the bottom...pretty neat. i wonder if yohji himself was the chemist?
the one i saw doesnt have the extreme effect of dissolution but does have the tone on tone embroidery and probably 100% rayon as well. a couple of other tops had linen and rayon in them.

the herb bottles are indeed beautiful and probably represent the herbal essence in the water. some of the art would translate well to clothing...hint hint.

luckyme, not sure what you mean by "i wonder if yohji himself was the chemist".
but he studied law, then went to bunka in order to be a dressmaker.

Uemarasan, the bottles were done in collaboration with joshibi university where he is a visiting professor (yukio ninagawa too, btw).

thanks for all the info runner!
really interesting...

ah crap!......
i knew it!...the easel cover shirt is awesome!
it's even signed!...
...

i'm not so sure how i feel about the vest with the wings..
it's well done, i will say that...
i think it might be ok on the right person...
what do you think runner...?
cool, or too literal...or even a bit of a cliche, maybe?

i do like it as part of the presentation here---i think it works in this context

oh-the bananas are too funny!!!...
creepy mannequins and silly bananas...
yohji's universe is certainly unique...
:p
