Yamamoto is working on a new 60-piece Y’s collection of men’s and women’s wear for the show, each of the designs being a one-off.

Two days after the show, the clothes will be auctioned at the Beijing Hotel with money raised going to the Yohji Yamamoto Fund for Peace.
wow...i love this...
reminds me of the 80's when fashion was more politically/socially oriented...
when you got the idea that fashion could make a statement and potentially change the world...
in the world of corporately owned fashion houses..fashion seems to have lost most of its integrity...
now it's just about selling the most platforms shoes or designing the latest IT bag...

...

love yohji..
thanks runner and iyemstoopid...

as a buyer for a store carrying y's for many years, it's actually very annoying to compare what's been shown here and at the y's red label show in tokyo, to what they were actually offering in the showroom - it seems as if he was more concerned pleasing the crowd in beijing than his retail customers that have been waiting for a really strong y's collection ever since the collection is not being shown on the official paris calender (back when koji nagano was creative director of y's).

much to love here, thanks for taking the time to post all this runner. the coat with the low-waisted red pleats grabbed my attention immediately, it is so cool. the blue's from the temple(?) and the clothes are so similar in hue...its remarkable.

I agree. I think people should celebrate diversity even in fashion.
Anywho,
I've always loved Yohji.
His collection in this one is so simple yet chic!

Thank you iyemstoopid! The video gives a nice impression of the show! I like that Yamamoto is using more colour recently.

Could you tell me which music is played in the background? It`s nice.

my god...
the more i see of this stuff the more i just melt......

i love yohji and his darkness...

and now i wish i had one of those long asymmetrical skirts...:p

but doesn't it seem as if some of the main collection is mixed in here?
esp the leather pieces and long black dresses...?

according to what i have read, not all of these outfits were auctioned (and thus, specifially designed for this one event)... you can clearly tell that some of these pieces were (inspired) from yohji's mainline show, maybe done again in a different colour option or with slight variation.

those looks that have so far been posted are all strong and with lots of attitude and refinement - i wish he and his team would have put just as much thought into creating an equally strong 'commercial' collection for shops to buy (none of what i am seeing here had been shown in the showroom, even in slight variation or conceptual thinking)... because honestly - y's has been treated like yohji's little step-child for a while now.
