Alice in Chains

I couldn't find a thread for this band, but they are a great underrated, 90's band.

I heard one of the songs off the new album the other day with the new singer, was really good. Surprisingly similar to the old stuff considering it's a different singer.

I haven't heard any of the the new stuff. I hate it when bands change their singer.

Layne was unique ...At their unplugged he was seriously damaged but he make it amazing and did you see him with Mad season? they were soo amazing..it talked with Barret Martin (the Mad season drummer, also Screaming Trees second drummer)about that Mad season gig they have in Seattle and how special it was...
He was an only soul...you know one of those artist that are really touching with his voice and lyrics...
RIP Layne... there's no one like him... thats why i refuse watching Alice in chains now i prefer not having watching them live ever... cause it would make me cry... those words belonged to Layne and Jerry... ok Jerry and the rest still alive but they cannot make another Alice in chains im sorry... and i love Jerry's work solo and solo songs in Alice in chains which backing vocals of Layne make you shiver...

Nobody like Layne Staley

historylink.org

(the only song he messed up and they were like a long time no giving concerts or anything... but maaaaaaan they were amazing together...Layne always like is recorded voice will be alive in our hearts)...why did i posted this? Cause he was simply brilliant and perfect doing his work! Plus i do love this song... well I DO LOVE ALL.

seeing them live now wouldn't fullfill what Alice in Chains is to me. Without Layne, it's not really the real band. The new singer-I've seen the live videos and I have nothing against him or the band for continuing on, but without Layne's words or voice, I don't think I could have kicked my own heroin habit. He always has a great place in my heart, maybe moreso than any other musician. AIC isn't my most favorite band overall, but Layne is by far my favorite musician hands down.
