Which concert would you have given your right arm to have been at?
There are a lot of concerts it would have been soooo much fun to have been to. Shame most great live bands were buried before most of us were even allowed (or in existence) to go to concerts
This is high up on the list - GNR 1988...That voice and the dance, there is a god....guess I should use past tense on that one, tho
I would not part with my right arm, but the two concerts I would most like to have seen were Bob Dylan at Manchester Free Trade Hall in 1966 and Jimi Hendrix playing the Haleakala Crater in Maui, Hawaii in 1970.
You can see footage of the Dylan show in Scorcese's No Direction Home, and footage of the Hendrix concerts in the motion picture Rainbow Bridge, though I don't know if that would be easy to find.
This is actually from Edinburgh, not Manchester, but it is representative:

This is not my favorite song from the Haleakala shows, but it is representative:
the ziggy stardust tour in the 70's....
and like iluvjeisa i would love to see GNR in the 80's..
jimi hendrix..rolling stones - mmm, the list goes on forever.
Janis Joplin..
And sex pistols 1976 - 77...
^That Circus concert looks like such a blast. My fave so far from that show is Jumping Jack Flash, it's the neatest dance ever there...and the song seems to suit the mood of the venue.

And salt of the earth too...those yellow outfits...everyting's just so effortlessly fabulous.
..probably one of the festivals at newport in the 60s.
and, of course, this show...[because i was sooo close to get tickets and never managed to score ].
