I just saw 'Control' by Anton Corbijn. One of my favourite movies now , the actors are very good and the film is like a piece of art , every still could be a Corbijn picture

as you know "Ceremony" & "In a lonely place" were joy div compositions that were recorded by new order after Ians suicide

yes , i need to find it on dvd ! untill then i'm watch the trailer over and over again on youtube some people there comment that his accent is incorrect in the film but I don't know anything about that ..

oh yes 'ceremony' is arguably THE new order classic [although temptation and blue monday are likewise legendary].
if you look at the writing credits on 'ceremony' its joy division, not new order.
also the 'still' live LP has an early version of ceremony with ian singing it!!
AND of youre REALLY into 'ceremony' theres a SECOND 12" version of it from 1981: in a WHITE/BLUE sleeve.
[the original CEREMONY 12" had a Green 12" sleeve]

Has anyone been finding it hard to find 'Control' anywhere to rent? All the local video stores don't have it. I guess I should have expected that.....

So does that mean that Ceremony, my favourite JD song, is actually not sung by Ian? I know New Order did a version (on the Marie Antionette soundtrack) but i don't like it as much. I'm confused!

^^ The version on the "Still" Live LP is sung by Ian but there's no studio recording of the band playing the song.

every NEW ORDER 'ceremony' is bernard sumner singing.

the live JD versions ["still" etc] have IAN singing

it was written by JD. ian committed suicide
'ceremony' was the first new order 45.
in fact it was released TWICE in 1981 in 2 different 12" versions

I actually prefer Joy Division's Ceremony over New Order's version. Ian's voice is so foreboding and mysterious.

I adore Joy Division Warsaw is one of my all time favourite albums. Ian Curtis was so gifted.
