Wind in the wires is beautiful..probably my favourite of his. The lyrics to 'The Libertine' amuses me. What a talent!

^ and we love him for that, don't we?

During his 'finales', he wore interesting designs by CSM graduates Faggot & Diamond. One of them (Craig Lawrence) does knitwear for Gareth Pugh.

Their MySpace profiles: Faggot & Diamond liriaPristine KNITWEAR DESIGNER

The second picture is from the night he 'died' on stage.

Soulless crap. It's a shame it sounds so superficial. Technically he is quite good.

You think his music is superficial? A few tracks off The Magic Position maybe..but some of his stuff is quite dark and sad

I really love those photos

certainly if you listen to wind in the wires....definitely more emotionally wrenching. but his writing, its like goldfrapp to me...alot of his lyrics like on the libertine are visual metaphors for something incredibly melancholic.

See to me, he is just a guy who wishes he were Nick Cave. But he is not. So he kicks up the scenester chic a notch. But then I just love Nick Cave so I could be biased.

^i adore nick cave too and there's certainly no denying his influence on him but i also know he has other influences which are pretty obvious...like bjork...kate bush...pj...

that's another thing i admire of him. i think it's even more refreshing since this kind of artistry is coming from a gay man. for once somebody who doesn't follow that stereotypical notion that we all love and are influenced by madonna or abba. and he's so anti in that part of music too which is another refreshing bit.

I haven't listened to a lot of Nick Cave after The Birthday Party, so could someone point me out a few the similarities they have in their music?
