placebo are my favorite. we go way back.
i've been a fan since the first album.... 1996....
i first saw them on mtv's 120 minutes; the video for "bruise pristine"
i have all their cds. I love "without you i am nothing" They are one wof my favourite bands. Strange... sad... beautiful...
the bitter end is one of the most important songs in my short life ; )
Placebo isn't too big here in the States. I can recall that song, "Pure Morning", and another, but that's about it. Does anybody have comparisons to what other bands they're like? I'm interested in learning more about the band.

Well I loved them both but then again I'm not the right person to ask since in my eyes Placebo can do no wrong. I liked "I Do" a bit more than "20 years" though.

Hmm well Placebo don't really sound like any other band it sometimes seems like they try really hard to follow the trend but always end up sounding different. They're influnced by The Pixies, Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey, Nick Drake, and the Smashing Pumpkins. Brian once described their music as "punk pop for postponed suicides."

Sleeping With Ghosts is quite good. A bit more mature Placebo not so much decadence, more apologies. The lyrics are very dark but the music is quite up beat.
