Portishead go "Third"
Portishead have announced the full details of their long-awaited new album "Third".
As previously reported, the group's first new material since 1999's self-titled second LP is due out in April.
It will be accompanied by a full European tour, which kicks-off in Portugal in March and includes a show at the Coachella Festival in California.
Portishead have now revealed the tracklisting for "Third", which is as follows:
"We Carry On"
Meanwhile, the group play the following UK dates:
09 Apollo, Manchester
10 Hammersmith Apollo, London
12 Corn Exchange, Edinburgh
13 Civic, Wolverhampton
17 Brixton Academy, London
"Third" is out on April 14.
Things are only impossible until they’re not.
Oh boy, ive never seen this thread... Now that i do, im really happy to see there are still hard core trip-hopers in this efing world.
For me its all about Undenied... i still get nervous when i hear them (in a joyfull melancholic masochistic way, as we all do).
So we have Massive Attack, Hooverphonic, Morcheeba, Sneaker Pimps, all of those are great. How about Alpha, Baxter, Goldfrapp (first album only), Bang Gang (i looooooooooove them), Archive (looooooove them too), Broadcast, Sur Carabela (excelent stuff from south america), The Nand (or Yu Fei Men), Lamb, Hird (awesome tunes with Yukimi Nagano singing)... i need a break right now, im getting crazy thinking bands you may know/like too.
Hope that Portishead new stuff find a release soon, they have been working on that very album since '99 or so

I'm not too keen on this new single, Machine Gun, but I've heard some of the other tracks and they seem to be pretty good. I've seen mixed responses on the interweb so far: some people proclaiming it the best album of the year so far, others saying it's horrible.
