Finally! an update on my most highly-awaited releases of recent, from avant-metal outfit Virgin Black:

Quote:
27th July 2006

THE END RECORDS offers an update on the forthcoming releases from Australia's VIRGIN BLACK.

Given the unorthodox nature of Virgin Black's current obsession, a series of three Requiems, questions have understandably been coming thick and fast on all manner of details. Most prevalent is the question pertaining to potential release schedules, and with all three albums nearing completion the crucial parties have seen fit to impart a certain amount of clarity.

The three albums will be released on a slightly staggered time scale beginning with Requiem - mezzo forte, the second in the series, followed by Requiem - fortissimo the last in the series and an album of intense heaviness.
The first in the series, an all classical affair, Requiem - pianissimo will be the final release. The parade of albums will begin first thing in the New Year with tours to follow.

We wait with bated breath.
(virginblack.com)

I know I'm probably the only fan around, but I can't recommend them strongly enough. You can hate metal and love Virgin Black. - Just so the possibilities are understood, and not solely as an excuse to let slip a little for-all-I-care...

Scarlett sings Tom Waits

Wed 18 Oct 12:30 PM

She's already dominated the silver screen - now Scarlett Johansson wants to win over the world of music.

The Black Dahlia star is the latest Hollywood A-lister (following Lindsay Lohan, Russell Crowe and Minnie Driver amongst others) to attempt a music career.

It's reported in The Sun that Scarlett, 21, is recording her debut album, titled Scarlett Sings Tom Waits.

Due out next [this] Spring the album of covers is said to showcase what insiders describe as her "whispery" voice, which is odd because Waits is famed for his gravely vocals.

....
(uk.movies.yahoo.com)

Whether I believe she possess the 'talent' to drain the songs of all their life, I won't say; the important thing is that she has good taste in music and won't be releasing an album of songs by Justin Timberlake, her reported on/off beau...
