I'm not sure what the .99 means. But I'm not trying to sell anything.

John Coltrane was an annoying pr*t who invented the 'talk about your drugs problem' genre, Kurt Cobain is just annoying and neither deserve a mention.

Prince, I hope that someday you will be able to appreciate the work of these two geniuses. I am curious to know what you mean about Coltrane "talking about * drug problems", I listen to a lot of Coltrane and don't see what you mean. He had drug problems, yes, but I don't find them in his music.
Anyway, the list goes on, why no mention of:
Brian Jones (Rolling Stones)
Keith Moon (The Who)
Clifford Brown (brilliant jazz trumpeter)
Jacob Miller (reggae singer)
Peter Tosh
and for those who think that 50 is too young to die,
Joe Strummer (the Clash)
And countless others...
Maybe the rights to their music didn't include a $0.99/track option...
Michael Hutchence, indeed... that story is so sad, I've always loved INXS.
Otis Redding... he died a week before "Sittin' On the Dock of the Bay" was released. So sad, and he had so many other great sounds (Try a Little Tenderness, Love Man, etc.)
Tami Terrell - died of cancer at age 25 (she sang with Marvin Gaye in the 60s; some of their hits were "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "You're All I Need to Get By")
Minnie Riperton - died of cancer at age 32 (her biggest hit was "Lovin You")
