These days I hate this time of the year and these lists because I'm reminded of how I'm not dedicating enough time for new releases anymore.. I get too hung up on records, and can play the same thing nonstop for longer than a year . I feel like if something makes the list it's only because it's bearable for cooking and while working on a paper . Some years ago most stuff I listened to wasn't that anythingelse-friendly, almost 3 am stuff only.. still not 100% comfortable with the change.
Hopefully once I get a break I'll be able to dive comfortably into Patti's new album, and Cat Power's!, Santigold's new stuff sounded pretty good live and I loved the first single.. ah.
Confess by Twin Shadow Tempest by Bob Dylan Visions by Grimes Tramp by Sharon Van Etten Nootropics by Lower Dens Unapologetic by Rihanna Mr Impossible by Black Dice Victory by Child Actor Coexist by The XX *although I can't listen to this from start to finish. It gets a little too marriage crisis sometimes. Mondo by Electric Guest *blah if the album's the first impression but delicious live, pretty much summed up the summer for me..

Ah! Every December, I look back and start freaking out about what music I might have missed, or didn't pay enough attention too. From what was release this year that, had me hitting repeat. In absolutely no particular order...so hard to narrow this down:
Grimes - Visions Sharon van Etten - Tramp Alt + J - An Awesome Wave Bat for Lashes - The Haunted Man Frank Ocean - Channel Orange Fiona Apple - The Idler Wheel... Purity Ring - Shrines Haleek Maul - Oxyconteen Django Django - Django Django
Honorable mentions (because I'll always find a way to get out of committing to a list): Electric Guest - EP (yes MP!), Beach House - Bloom, XXYYXX - XXYYXX, Kendrick Lamar - good kid m.A.A.D city, Jessie Ware - Devotion, oh and that new Katy B - Danger EP.
Lou Doillon - Places Bat for Lashes - The Haunted Man Fiona Apple - The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw And Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do Grizzly Bear - Shields Tame Impala – Lonerism Santigold - Master of My Make-Believe Perfume Genius - Put Your Back N 2 It Lucy Rose - Like I Used To Lianne La Havas - Is Your Love Big Enough?
