am i missing something, i didn't find it graphic at all.

Gerald Marie is known to be a womanizer from way back in the early 90's. i remember i was a teenager and watched programs about Elite Models competition and it was obvious the guy was taking advantage of those girls.

I'm happy for Carré she finally named him. But Karen Mulder did the same thing before and everybody said she was crazy.

^ Exactly. I've always felt sad about what happened to Karen.

I can't understand why people on the jezebel site are saying there should have been a warning about how she describes it. HELLO rape is not pretty. It's traumatic and there's too much ''glossing over'' of the subject and victim blaming.

When i was a teen, i thought Carré was the most beautiful girl in the world.
It takes a lot of courage to speak up like this, it's admirable, good to know that she now sorted her life.

This is typical Jezebel *rolls eyes*

A woman describes something graphic and traumatic that a much older, more powerful man did to her and there will be commenters who will want to talk, not about the subject of what happened or the fact that Gerald Marie was able to get away with such sustained abuse for so long (isn't he also the man who tried to pimp out - as in literally - underage contestants in the Elite modelling competition?), but nitpick about how to choose an excerpt from a book. The post itself is better than what they usually publish, but the comments....heaven help us.

Like others said, newsflash: rape is not pretty. I'm glad Carré spoke up, it's courageous of her to do so and I hope that it brought her some peace. I also hope Gerald Marie pays for what he did, but I suppose that's too much to hope for .

That man is such a monster. This is not the first time allegations like this surround him, nor the second.

Very brave of Carre to speak out like this and it's good to see she's been able to move on with her life.
Gerald Marie is a horrible, vile person who is probably living a life of luxury as we speak. From my understanding he did resign but was reinstated after it was discovered that the BBC documentary may have included some manipulated scenes.

How is it possible that this scumbag still has a job where he comes into contact with young vulnerable girls? Why hasn't anyone done anything about this. It makes me so angry.

Seems he has quite the history. Ugh

Quote:
Two senior executives at a top model agency have resigned after a BBC programme exposed the seedy side of the fashion industry.

A team led by undercover journalist Donal MacIntyre alleged girls as young as 13 were pressured into sex and drugs by people in trust.

Gerald Marie, president of Elite Europe, and Xavier Moreau, president of Elite Model Look, have both had their resignations accepted by the Elite board of directors.

Mr Marie, former husband of supermodel Linda Evangelista, was filmed propositioning journalist Lisa Brinkworth when she posed as a model in Tuesday night's programme, part of the MacIntyre Undercover series.

Mr Marie was also filmed telling Mr MacIntyre, who was posing as a fashion photographer, he was planning to seduce finalists from the Elite Model Look contest, whose average age was 15.

This is so sad, the worst part is how many others there are that have gone through this but haven't had the courage to speak up. Good for Carre.

Has he ever been charged with anything?
