This is so sad...

I've given Lou Reed records as gifts, lent to my friends my Velvet Underground & Nico album (which I still haven't got back) because I knew there was no way they couldn't appreciate his music. It's completely timeless.

Such a loss!

He was one of the good ones, a true creator, a guy who created and gave us an entire age of pure raw rock n´roll.

So sad to read this today.

My song to remember him by is:

Caught between the twisted lines, the plotted lines, the faulty map that brought Columbus to New York....

Sweet dreams Lou, you will be missed

A beautiful picture of Lou & Laurie taken by Annie Leibovitz in 1995. Interesting that Coney Island, like Lou, is no longer "here".

Good bye, Lou, and thanks for everything; I can never explain how much you and your music meant to me.

I imagine you at the relocated Max's Kansas City, at your usual table with Andy and Nico. Looking sharp and nasty as a switchblade. Yeah, I know, those were different times...

Standin' on the corner

Jack's in his corset, Jane is in her vest
me, I'm in a rock and roll band...

after all, it was you and me

What a man and what a life.

I am so grateful that he was born and that he was around at a time when people with great talent received recognition.

Thanks Jane for that shot of Lou and Laurie-- what a raw and graceful moment Annie's captured. That's an image I'll remember him by.

Beth and Portishead are the King Midases of music. They are to music what Helmut and Jil are to high fashion for me. Thanks Scott for that bit of a feast!

I am tired, I am weary
I could sleep for a thousand years
A thousand dreams that would awake me
Different colors made of tears.

RIP Lou Reed. Thank you for the inspiration.
"Sunday Morning" couldn't have been more fitting for that day...
