Clearly a bad *** just speaking her mind. She's speaking like this because she knows nobody can say anything bad about her. Jessica is one of the few who look good even without make-up. I like Eva. She needs to do better movies. I hated the hell out of Ghost Rider it was extremely cheesy.

Exactly, it's not like they're fighting over who is going to be the next Katherine Hepburn
![]() I wonder what she tells directors/producers in those meetings "Yeah, I'm going to put some a** into those seats with my raw acting talent. haven't you seen Sin City? I nailed that minor role as the sexy dancer with the whip! And have you seen me in "honey"? I think I really brought out my character's emotional journey from being a sexy dancer to being a sexy dancer!" |

I love how she rants and raves about being a woman of color who can open a movie...
... and then basically states she isn't a Latina. ![]()

Birthday Girl, Miss Ania and Heroine
Right on. She's not an actress, but just another overhyped celebrity piece of ***. I still think she's pretty, but she had nothing to do with that, and she ruins her looks with her trash-bag personality. She's earned NOTHING. |

Maybe she should retire seeing as she's opened a movie. I mean if you look at her repertoire it's clearly evident that she's played all the good roles already.

The thing is, I don't get how someone can be so f*cking delusional or stupid to say something like that. I mean, I don't see anything wrong with someone like Alba, she is good at what she does (which isn't the epitome of emancipation or great art, but still), there must be a million young, hot "actresses" to replace her and she's still famous and quite successful and has been for a while. She could say that she wants to change her image and works on it and that she hopes her a** will get less important or something like that.... and just admit that it's her body, not her great body of work - at least act like you're modest!! or can't she just ask her publicist to speak for her???

Wow this is really funny, I haven't seen her in anything apart from Sin City, a few of my male friends have seen a lot of her films, but thats definitely nothing to do with her acting skills or get business sense, lol.
This quote from Mark Twain comes to mind: "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt." |

I cannot fu**ing stand Alba.
In regards to her embracing her latina heritage...I call bulls*it. "I've got cousins galore. Mexicans just spread all their seeds. And the women just pop them out." "My grandfather was the only Mexican at his college, the only Hispanic person at work and the only one at the all-white country club. He tried to forget his Mexican roots, because he never wanted his kids to be made to feel different in America. He and my grandmother didn't speak Spanish to their children. Now, as a third-generation American, I feel as if I have finally cut loose." "My grandfather was the only one in our family to go to college. He made a choice not to speak Spanish in the house. He didn't want his kids to be different." "[Before] I always felt like such an outcast and now I feel like people are more diverse ethnically. I was always self conscience of my puffy lips and darker skin when I was a kid, because I felt like I didn't fit in. And now its mainstream, and color isn't as big of a deal and if anything its better." "My whole life, when I was growing up, not one race has ever accepted me, … So I never felt connected or attached to any race specifically. I had a very American upbringing, I feel American, and I don't speak Spanish. So, to say that I'm a Latin actress, OK, but it's not fitting; it would be insincere." "Alba is my last name and I'm proud of that. But that's it. My grandparents were born in California, the same as my parents, and though I may be proud of my last name, I'm American. Throughout my whole life, I've never felt connected to one particular race or heritage, nor did I feel accepted by any. If you break it down, I'm less Latina than Cameron Diaz, whose father is Cuban. But people don't call her Latina because she's blonde." I hope there aren't any little goes out there who idolize her...for any reason. |
