Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis split?

Since this is coming from People magazine, I'm guessing it's as close to being true as possible:

Once upon a time, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis lived a quiet family life far from the spotlight in the sleepy French hamlet of Plan-de-la-Tour.

But that time is no more, and now the couple largely reside in L.A. – when they are in the same city at all.

Depp, 48, and Paradis, 39, who are parents to Lily-Rose, 12, and Jack, 9, have not appeared side-by-side on a red carpet for more than a year. Multiple sources tell PEOPLE in this week's cover story that the relationship is all but officially finished.


In fact, some in their circle say the couple of nearly 14 years have already split. Says one insider: "It's so sad."

If this is true, which is likely since People mag reports, it's really sad. They seemed so perfect together. I can't imagine JD or VP with someone else.

I'm not really surprised, sad yes but not surprised. These recent years It's seemed like they were, professionally, always on the opposite sides of the globe.
Sometimes it's work commitments and sometimes it's just time that makes people grow apart.
For some reason, I don't feel like Vanessa will find it that difficult to move on as Johnny will.

there have been some rumors he got back to some of his old habits, so i guess Vanessa might've had it enough with it all, but who knows..

I could care less about most celebrity couplings and partings, but this is one split I'm actually bummed about.

I'd rather not him and Eva Green be together. It kind of seems unimaginative and obvious for them to pair. If he was cheating, Vanessa seems the type to go nuclear, but everything's been very quiet.
