Sometimes, the owner of the car can be charged if the person behind the wheel is intoxicated and the owner is in the car.

They were saying Lindsay was under the influence. I don't really think that would be a valid point if she wasn't the one driving the car.

She was the one driving...all night was she was being chauffeured and then she decided to go out on her own at like 5:30 am and crashed.

Should be interesting to see how this unfolds after the holiday this weekend...the investigation seems serious...and after all the drama with Paris Hilton, I'm sure she'll be getting an equally serious judge who will be looking to make LA appear to be just as hard on celebs as they are with anyone else...

She's facing a lot: underage drinking, DUI, possession, leaving the scene of an accident, the bodyguard is an accessory for driving the car away...dramz...she can count on her license being suspended for at least a year...

Lindsay Lohan planned an extravagant 21st birthday celebration for July 2-3 in Las Vegas, but oops! Because of her DUI this weekend, Swedish vodka company Svedka vodka told Lindsay that they'll no longer be sponsoring her party. After initially acknowledging the deal (which was also confirmed by Lohan's lawyer), a different rep for the vodka company now tells us it will not be sponsoring the weekend. According to this article, additional sponsors may include Las Vegas nightspots Pure nightclub, Caesars Palace and the Social House restaurant at Treasure Island.

Let's recap irony:
1. A girl in Alcoholics Anonymous & rehab gets a vodka company to be the main sponsor for her birthday party.
2. The alcoholic leaves rehab and parties, getting a DUI in the process.
3. The vodka company pulls the sponsorship.

Only in Hollywood.

She was the one driving! DUI is "driving under the influence". If she had just been a high passenger, she would've been charged with "public drunkenness" or "suspicion of drug use". You can not get a DUI charge when you are not driving. Isn't there video of her hopping in the car and driving away?

LiLo was not ready to give up her old life, yet, but DUI will get her on that path very quickly. Thank goodness she didn't kill anyone. It'll be difficult for her to stay sober when she's socializing with drunks/drug addicts.
