If you read the Vanity Fair article the journalist actually says somewhere in there that Lindsay's publicist immediately wanted to retract/deny the statements Lindsay made in the interview and that she was already working on it. In fact, when asked about Linday's issues (during this same interview), her mother denied and downplayed most of it.

Theres always a little bit of truth in everything the tabloids print. As much as I deny everything I hear in them they all(the celebs being written about) eventually come clean. I used to say never read tabloids they're crap but more and more often what they write is fact not fiction. Needless to say I'm a believer. lol

what a moron. she probably only told them about all her problems to get a bit of sympathy, then got told that she should've kept her mouth shut by her publicist, then tried to retract it-she knows, her publicist knows, and vanity fair know that they have it all on tape. But she's achieved her goal of putting doubt in people's minds whether the story is true or not. So I'm guessing she may not get an invite to the Vanity Fair Oscar party then.

She's rediculous. I mean, did we not already come to the conclusion that she has some kind of eating disorder? It was really just a matter of finding out which one.....

Now if I was her, I'd be more appalled at the pictures they printed (though it's not the magazine's fault that she's covered in freckles) but still....

If the Journalist taped it all then I don't know what Lindsay is trying to do.
Maybe she just became really embarrassed.... Or got a talking to from her publicist. I don't know why she keeps denying, it just makes things worse for herself.

Magazines like Vanity Fair do have a reputation to uphold. I doubt they would go all tabloid and "lie".

Infact, it seems like the tabloids - not Vanity Fair - are making a bigger hulla-ba-loo than anyone!

This is what I think. It's only my opinion so no one jump down my throat please.

What I think happened is that she told them that she had those drug and eating issues knowing that the issue would sell very because of it. Then when the hype over the issue came out most people didn't need to buy the issues because every news website and newspaper wrote what was in the article. So then she denies it and says that her words were twisted so people will be curious as to what the exact words were and buy the issue.

I'm still not sure why she is purposely being seen carrying the magazine.

Every tabloid I see at the moment has something along the lines of:
"Lindsay admits drug and bulemia hell!"

And next week all the tabloids will say "Lindsay Sues Vanity Fair!"

Then the week after is will say "Linsday supports Vanity Fair: Seen here carrying the issue!"

All these tactics just keep her in the media longer.
