I think Charlize did an AMAZING role in monster. Pretty unfair for Lindsay to say such a comment but oh well....Thats Hollywood for ya!

Yeah, and Samantha Morton was great in In America. But you never heard crap about her performance because a)She isn't very famous b)she did not change her looks in any way, her performance was just based on pure talent. Think of Renee Zelweger getting nominated for Bridget Jones. Sure she was cute and lovable and plump and British in that movie, but what actress in Hollywood couldn't do that? Its just a matter of Krispy Cremes and an accent--who can't do a British accent? That was just a shallow nomination from the Academy.

I think if this had come out of Cate Blanchet's mouth more people would be agreeing. Because, honestly, Lindsay will never come near winning an Oscar, but she's dead on with her comment. IMO...

i think it was amazing that those actresses could transform themselves like that. Maybe lindsay is just mad that she doesn't HAVE to try to be ugly.

Even though I like and admire both of them and think they are great actors, I don't think Jamie Foxx or Cate Blanchett should have won- performing as someone, particularly Ray Charles and Katherine Hepburn who were very individual people, isnt so much acting as it is simply imitating. I would have much rathered them to win for an actual performance, as opposed to an imitation

I think they are both incredible actors though, don't get me wrong!
