Keeping up with the Trumps
Being there are now so many different parts of the Trump Family and their various adventures- Donald and Ivana, Donald Jr and Vanessa, Ivanka and Jared, Eric and even the seldom seen daughter Tiffany, I thought it may be a good idea to have a place for whomever may be interested in seeing the latest in their continuing saga! They are sometimes admirable or infuriating but nearly always interesting, especially if you've wasted, I mean invested as much time on them as I have! So hopefully this will be a good place to keep up for those who are interested... Post away- all news and opinions appreciated!!

Ivanka is the only interesting one. The rest are just annoying.

^ I guess I hadn't fully realized she was an exception to that rule

Who is this Tiffany of whom you speak?? Let me consult Google ...

Ah, Marla's daughter ... I have seen her.

^ Yes, poor Tiffany seems to be the Lost Trump...She lives with Marla in Malibu and is growing up nicely, but her world other than high school seems to consist of hanging out with her Mom at D List red carpet events and occasionally being seen in the audience of Dancing with the Stars...

Gawker gleefully jumps in to the opening round of Trump/Kushner bashing with both feet- I wonder if Ivanka realizes she is playing right into their hands... She and Jared would be much better off if they took the high road and just ignored all of this..it will only escalate now, and the coming bad news on the business front will only make things worse...

Ivanka Trump Whining: The Sound of the Future

Ivanka Trump Kushner is very upset about a profile of her and her new husband Jared that Crain's ran yesterday. Thanks for bringing that story to our attention, Ivanka! Also: The KushnerTrump brand is the future of the New York Observer.
The Observer is, at heart, a small little paper written by very smart people. It's not really the ideal pawn in a game of New York media mogul social climbing. Which will not stop Jared Kushner and his new bride from using it for that purpose!
Ivanka (who declined to give Crain's an interview for their story, although her dad did) twitted conspiratorially, "Do you think it's because of late Jared's new paper, The Commercial Observer, has stolen the last of Crains' few remaining advertisers?" Somehow we doubt that is the case! The story is mostly a pedestrian and factual recounting of the last few years of Kushner's and Trump's uniformly laughable rise to DIZZYING HEIGHTS of business moguldom or something, despite the fact that both of them are silver spoon kids with no discernible talent for actually making money, apart from slapping the "Trump" brand on various sh**ty baubles. Jared is actually astoundingly good at losing money, so far. What Ivanka calls "misinformed and pointless" is actually just a roundup of the various inanities and business failures she and Jared have racked up in the recent past. The worrying thing here is not that Ivanka (who, her dad says, "loves the public, she loves to be out there") is upset; it's that she and her husband seem to be totally enveloping the New York Observer in the Trump Brand. Ivanka's book ads were just the beginning. The fact that it's now impossible to discuss one of New York's most literary weeklies without being one degree of separation from discussing Donald Trump does not portend a happy future.
And get off Twitter, Ivanka. That will be one million dollars.

Looks like another force of nature is having its way in that picture

Well, he is certainly a little unusual- but believe it or not, he has a great sense of humor and is friendly and quite charming when he is in the mood...Very different from what you would expect...I've always thought that is part of his plan- have everyone expect you to be nasty and mean, and then disarm them with being normal and nice...It seems to work very well for him...

Very bad news- for me, anyway...It's the end of an era.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka have given up their efforts to regain control of Trump Entertainment Resorts in Atlantic City and have thrown their support to bondholders.
Trump and his daughter also agreed to release the company from claims of more than $100 million, as well as halt all discovery and litigation against the bondholders. The company filed for bankruptcy in February.
In exchange, the bondholders, who are owed $1.25 billion, have agreed to give Trump common stock and warrants equal to 10 percent of the company. The plan is subject to bankruptcy court approval.
Kristopher Hansen, counsel for the bondholders, said the group is pleased with the settlement and hopes it will bring a swift end to the cases "for the benefit of all creditors."
The three Atlantic City casinos that make up Trump Entertainment Resorts, which include the Trump Taj Mahal, will continue to bear the Trump name.
"I am motivated to give the properties the best chance to succeed on a reorganized basis," Trump said in a written statement. "Had circumstances not changed, I would have aggressively continued to pursue the debtors' plan with the objective of acquiring control of and revitalizing a company that I have not run for many years."
A Trump Entertainment Resorts spokesman said the company had no comment at this time.
A follow-up conversation between the bondholders and the Trumps is planned for November 25, according to the filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New Jersey.
Trump and the bondholders have been jockeying for control of the company for months. In August, Trump and BNAC Inc, an affiliate of Beal Bank Nevada, proposed to buy the company for $100 million and take it private. Days later the bondholders filed a rival reorganization plan.

^ What a small and interesting point...

"Under the deal reached today, the three casinos - Trump Taj Mahal, Trump Marina and Trump Plaza - will continue to use the Trump name and the likenesses of Trump and his daughter in their marketing efforts."

So let's see....If you head downtown from the Trump International Hotel (see below)- you get to the soon to open (maybe) Trump Soho Hotel/Condominium, which is expected to be foreclosed upon by the lender even before it opens it's doors...and they are spending $30 Million on redoing the decor at the other place?? (Which is beautiful, btw...I don't see the need for any of this...) Is it me, or does this make no sense at all...??

New York's Trump International Hotel Plans $30 Million Dollar Renovation

Luxury Travel Magazine- November 16, 2009

Trump Hotel Collection's senior executives – Donald J. Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump – are leading the New York luxury hotel's extravagant $30 million renovation.

Trump International Hotel & Tower New York, the flagship property of the growing Trump Hotel Collection, revealed plans for an extensive multimillion-dollar renovation of its 167 guest rooms and suites beginning in January 2010.

Engineered for a seamless, quiet transition invisible to guests, the renovation of the hotel will happen in two stages, with half of the rooms being addressed January through April, and the balance in June through September. The hotel will remain open throughout the process.

Donald might me a bit of an arse, but there's no denying he raised his children correctly. They are all college grads and with their wealth, they have never been involved in controversy. No famewhoring like the Hilton's.

^ Well....Donald Jr had a couple of 'incidents' when he was in party mode, one involving a bar fight, a couple of arrests (not of him...) and a trip to the hospital....but, amazingly, it never became a major story... When he graduated from Wharton he spent a lost year or so as a bartender in Aspen- another part of the story that has been conveniently avoided...You have to admire how he's gotten himself together the last few years, however...
