It's not a big deal. If that's the case then we should all wear protective gloves on our hands whenever we went outside.Washing up shoud do the job.

where i live, you alwasy see people at the shops with no shoes on. i find it quite yucky. because you can see their toe nails with dirt on them from walking around the place with no shoes.

i had a bf, who wore no shoes when we were on a date. and i said to him "whyyyyy are you wearing no shoes" in a patranizing(sp) voice and he got really deffensive. but i just couldnt help it, i could bearly walk next to him

maybe im a snob.....

I have to say going into a public toilet is not something I would do but I think the difference between the dry pavements of summer-in-London vs the wet floor of a bathroom or even a shower (I have a phobia of wet hair when it is not attached to its owner ) is crucial. Not that either of them would give you a disease.

you quoted the Libertines in your signature so i assumed you were a fan. Peter and Carl met up two nights ago in a club and talked for a couple hours over some drinks. It was said to be a positive meeting, and that they're finally working on burying the hatchet and becoming friends again. all my fellow Libs fans are really happy about it, just thought you would be too.

Maybe it's dirtier in America

I've heard that Americans think it's unhealthy for you and not good for the floor to walk barefoot at home, is this true?

Ooh, the prejudice!

I don't know much of the US but the places I've been to were super clean. But I wouldn't walk around barefoot anyway, not on the street. I save barefoot walking for the beach.

Cleaning Hands Keeps Elementary Students in School

Yeah, Sienna in London, stop with the America-bashing! Kids here in America with clean hands only miss 2.42 days of school, whereas those filthy little un-American kids miss 3.02 days. That's, like, four more hours of sitting still, facing forward, and becoming well-socialized that those sick, grubby-pawed brats will miss and forever lag behind their cleaner, healthier peers. Imagine what lessons they won't miss if we'd just keep their feet clean, too! From Purell hand-sanitizer (Pfizer) site, who can help your kids achieve in other ways:

Okay, I meant White Linen, not SiennaInLondon, stop with the America bashing! But I thought I might drag you into it, too, as you have professed your love for me...can it transcend our stand on barefootedness? Or, more importantly, our stand on celebrity barefootedness?

Oh please, I see nothing wrong with it. My aunt tells me that she have seen a lot of people in New Zealand who do the exact kind of thing that she does.
Just watch where you're stepping at.

^That's so cool. I used to walk to and from school, about 2 miles a day, barefoot in the spring and early fall in Pennsylvania. Over gravel roads, train tracks, hot sunbaked tarmac, grass, around broken glass and dog poop. The other kids walking thought I was nuts. Turns out they were right, I was and am both certifiable and certified, but it lifts one from the heavy burden of taking things too seriously.

Now I have another reason to defect to NZ. That's what the travel ads said in 2003, after the US was becoming particularly odious: Defectors Welcome! No fooling!

Oh, and staying on topic: Keira, Keira, Keira. Barefoot. Gorgeous. Barefoot. Ugh! Barefoot. Hooray! Hail Queen Britney! Barefoot & Pregnant!

^You're right sister!

I know my latest question ("I've heard that Americans think it's unhealthy for you and not good for the floor to walk barefoot at home, is this true?") sounded like bashing, but I've heard that from a lady who lives in America...

And you're right, I am bashing America. Sorry, but I am very prejudiced about the US.

^Damn straight White Linen -at least 50% of the population anyway. Oh and it is not prejudice, I am sure it is based on factual reasoning.

And what is this nonsense mellowdrama? I fall in love with you and this is how you treat me. I bash thee American! And good for pfizer. Those brats need to be taught the automoton way... or did I mean autocratic way... no wait that is the same thing... I am sure I meant autonomous. Or did I? And why not give them a mental illness whilst you're at it. That way they'll never ever question... oh wait... They dont question anyway. Mommie, will you laminate my project?

I don't mind Keira, but I'm a tid bit disgusted by that. I hate dirty feet... I think it's disgusting... not the germs idea of it, but just... dirty feet... it's like not washing your hands or getting under your nails..
