Actually my friend has met her,and Chanel was very rude to her. I guess that's the basis of it for me.When someone makes your friend cry,of course you'd be mad too,right?

^ I think the Chanel hating perhaps also has a lot to do with her 'look', especially at a show like VS where I personally just think she REALLY does NOT fit in. She just felt out of place, and I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only person to think so about Chanel!

I hope Catherine gets the help she needs, especially after yesterday. Cutting is so common AND dangerous, it breaks my heart. I have made a vow to my self not to talk bad about a model on TFS after yesterday.

I disagree, I thought she fitted the show. People that hate Chanel didn't start to hate her just now, because the VS show.

I stopped caring about Chanel Iman a long time ago lol.
She's just....there. In every issue of my Vogue US but I dont mind, I learned to ignore her presence I do like her on runway though.

She gave it her trademark sassiness and owned her moment. She went down well with the audience according to a few articles. As far as her look is concerned, there were alot of models with her frame on the show.

The hate brigade have always been on Chanel's heels, i mean a few people have been banned for resorting to racial slurs back when she got her US Vogue cover. Eitherway, she dominated the VS thread...whether it's positive or negative...there isn't a model out there that can cause an uproar on forums quite like Chanel. It's hilarious

At the end of the day, it's just a few words on a screen. These folks are not the ones giving her jobs so it's all good.

I don't think it's a predominantly race thing (I know you weren't suggesting this: tangential comment). I'm about as dark as you can be, and am a big fan of a number of black and asian models. I think much of the hate has to do with Chanel's confidence, which I use in a bad sense (presumption). If she looked like Jourdan or Naomi and still sounded as breezy and insipid when being interviewed, I suspect it would be more forgiven. As is, I'm reminded of Jared Leto speaking about himself as an actor, though perhaps his case is less egregious.

Me too. This business is tough, and I'm worried about Cat. The good thing is that she is taking a break until January, which I have so much respect for. I hope she gets everything sorted out, and I hope her agencies are supportive of her instead of treating her as a cash cow. Of course I'd love to see pics of Cat all the time every day, but not if she is miserable.
