anja rubik saddens me the most. she is polish, as well as magda frackowiak, and they are all so gorgeous. but the weight loss is truly visible. almost too much visible.

but it is the pressure of the industry they work in. its their job to be skinny. almost deadly skinny. modelling its like playing with the devil. sooner or later you are going to acknowledge the fact that the thinner the better. and this girls signed into this.

they are supposed to be anorexic. they are all models. natasha. anja. magda. and so on and so forth. we live in times (of cholera) when being anorexic. is actually chic. and designers want them to be anorexic.

Designers would change their stupid ways if agencies stopped providing them with excruciatingly thing models though... Right? Correct me if I'm wrong..

You all are not their agents, their agencies, none of it, just critics on a message board. PLEASE.

Do you actually think posting that you think Natasha needs to get her "s*it" together in her thread will make her run out and gain weight to please you all? Natasha is no fool, she knows what this industry calls for, and that is that. The bottom line is a size four girl will not book as many shows as her size zero or two girlfriend. It is not going to change, but I guess everyone has a right to complain aimlessly.
It's not ONLY about hoping that the model in question will get her act together, but it's also about providing a balanced opinion in her thread, perhaps to dissuade little girls who log on to her thread and think her kind of beautiful is the only acceptable kind of beautiful.

BTW, Coco and Lara didn't have to look like they're one step away from death [like Poly/Anja/etc etc] in order to get more jobs in the industry and IMO they're pretty "hot" at the moment.

agreed, this thread is needed to balance all that 'wow she is perfection' talk about all the skeletal girls...

those girls can easily log on to "healthier" models' and celebrity threads too...

So, what you're basically telling us is to shut it 'cause nothing's gonna change anyway.
If that's the case, we could also shut it about the war in Iraq or Palin's stupidity or abused children or banning gay marriage yadda yadda yadda, because the outcome is inevitable, nothing is gonna change and none of us can't do anything about those issues.
Please.
There is nothing worse than apathy, now jog on.

oh LAWD! i know you betta PREACH!

^i absolutely agree with you guys, navygreen, bun-bun and kriszti.md! without this thread there is an illusion of consensus on a beauty standard that at times borders on denial! so - if it is not possible to comment on the models' actual thread without being censored - it's great (and necessary) to have this space to do so!

also -- just wanted to add, in response to Natasha Poly in particular. there were backstage pics of her from, i believe Balmain or JPG where she literally took my breath away she looked SO unbelievably GORGEOUS. i have always been a fan of hers, and i think her face is so unique and truly stunning ... but she is undoubtably way too thin.

and all this talk of "girls will always be thin. a size 4 girl will never get work over a size 0 or size 2" it's all bull****. that's just the current "ideal". it could change tomorrow, and should.

Cindy, Christy, Linda, Naomi, Claudia, Eva, Stephanie, Karen, Helena, Kate, Gisele, Karolina, etc --- what size are THEY?? they're the biggest and most successful supermodels of the past 20 years! NONE of them are a 2 or a 0.

so this idea that "insanely skinny will always be in" is flawed and nonsensical.

ROTFLOL@ Kate not being a size zero or two. Maybe not now, but during her prime Kate was THE waif. She surely was no Cindy or Christy. She was the same size, albeit shorter, as any thin girl you see today. Cindy, Christy, their time has passed, it is done. Get over their aesthetic, and get into the new, the future. You will not see a Cindy or Christy be successful on the runway again.

A lot of these girls you all ridicule are stick skinny and healthy, and then you have the girls who are suffering with eating disorders. Being 115 pounds at 5'10 does not automatically mean you are over your toilet, purging every piece of food you have that evening. To think so is IGNORANT. Why come into this thread and continuously badger these models with your wishes for them to gain weight, or the usual "Oh, she looks terrible, oh look at her arms," it is quite retarted and overdone. Come up with solutions, call up the girls' agencies with your comments, why bash them so on a messageboard? Now that Vlada has gained a pound or two, you all are dragging Anja by her coif, it is ridiculous.

I understand the thing of presenting another idea of beauty to young girls who log in and find these stick thin models ideal, but speaking so badly about them as you all do in this thread, will not help anything.

"People who can't peel a banana shouldn't breed"

I mean, how ridiciculous can you be? What if Anja or one of the girls you all assume is suffering from an ED was to log in? There is a possibility that some of the cruelties you all lash out at them would hurt. Maybe it would get them to "peel banana," but this is no constructive criticism I get from this thread. Some of what is said is downright "SHUT THE THREAD DOWN" worthy.

The lot of you have accumulated most of your posts in this thread. What is the point of logging into this site if all you are here to do is criticize the model's weight, who must adhere to a certain aesthetic, in order to receive her paycheck? Why not create your own site where you can bash and say the same things about her arm, her bony leg, and her visible ribcage, OVER AND OVER again? It is so repetitive.

I personally do not care if a girl is Naomi Campbell's present weight or Olga Sherer's, my problem is the bashing, and the monotony of it all, in this thread. The mods need to get a handle on it.
