oh and just because you're vegan doesn't mean you can't have a traditional thanksgiving dinner. there's tofurkey, cranberry salads.... there are recipes for mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes that don't use dairy products. same goes for pumpkin pie. it seems like a lot of models use vegetarianism/veganism as an excuse not to eat fattening foods.

I don't think they use vegetarianism/veganism as an excuse, it's more of a prejudice vegetarians live that way to stay skinny/become skinnier.
there are quite many sweets and fast food products which are very fattening too and don't contain any meat. so no....i don't think that's an excuse.

fmag.

Someone at ontd_ff posted what she was going to be having for thanksgiving, it doesn't sound to filling.

I mentioned this before and its kind of weird especially after her little stunt with the eating disorder on tv thing. No one just "matures" and drops 15 pounds at her age.

Many people with ED's are vegan or raw-foodists. That's because since these foods can't be found at many restaurants, people with ED's can use the "Oh they don't have anything for me to eat here except a plain salad... Oh well, I'll just have lettuce". That's NOT to say that people become vegan or go raw because they're trying to hide an eating disorder. It just makes it easier for people that suffer from them to go under the radar to their family and friends.

Thats what i was thinking too. People can simply say they are vegan instead of refusing to eat a lasagna because they are't hungry. It's more of an "efficient" way to get away with eating less. And most people become vegan because of the animal cruelty that goes into making food. Although many do it due to allergies (MSG), but that's not a large percentage. I have a feeling thats not why Ali decided to become vegan. Why take it that far? Why not just vegetarian?

Kinga is not Polish
. She was born in Slovakia and raised in Hungary, if I'm not wrong.

As for Ali Michael. Different then everybody here, I don't think Ali is skinnier now. For me she still looks healthy. About her face, I think it only changed - back to when she was skinnier her face was still more round.

^you don't have to look like death to be unhealthy! considering previous interviews and the fact that she actually USED to have an ED and actually look BIGGER isn't a good sign.

I'm 100 % positive she isn't the same weight she was last February.
It's not just her face!
And yes Mchunu, it's a very bad sign. It means she's not over it.
I must say I really love her as a model, she's one of my favourit models, but still I'm very against the way she's starting to look now.
Correct me if I'm wrong, why would have all of those designers taken her for ss2009. if she looked the same as fall winter, when they refused her?

I would like to clarify that I do not believe models become vegans/vegetarians to get skinny or to hide an eating disorder. I do, however, suspect that some of them do not eat animal products so they don't look suspicious when turning down fattening food.

As for Ali, who knows what her reasons are for being vegan. I was just pointing out that you can practice veganism and still have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The fact that she was just having some vegetables and beans worried me a bit, especially when you take her past problems into consideration.

when you decide you're vegan at the same time that you develop an eating disorder, it's usually not a good thing.

People, let's move forward. And hope Ali is ok.
But what about this girl?
I haven't read the thread from the beginning so I don't know if she has been posted yet.

Her legs look better in the second picture, but her arms look like they're going to snap. No elbows should be that visible, although maybe it's just the angle. I don't like her as a model, either...she looks a little too bland for me.
