I think it's just as stupid to assume that all models are naturally that incredibly thin as it is to assume that many of them have eating disorders. This topic is a gigantic circle.

Ashley doesn't look too different there than she has in recent pictures, in my opinion.

True--criticizing others for assuming that models are naturally thin, then turning around and assuming that all models have eating disorders is border lining hypocrisy. I certainly don't believe that all models have eating disorders, but I know for sure that there is an immense amount of pressure put onto them to have a slim physique, which can ultimately lead to an eating disorder.

I always notice a huge difference from the fall shows to the spring ones. The girls usually appear thinner for the spring shows because the clothing is more revealing, swimsuits ect

i think it would make more sense to assume most models have disordered eating habits. they may not be psychologically in danger, but choose to put strict limitations on their lifestyle to compete in a ruthlessly fickle industry. i highly doubt most modes are naturally THAT thin. most of them ---to me, are meant to be 10-20 heavier

I agree with that who says some of the models have eating disorders- I think no one can doubt it...
But- not every models have, neither not most of them, that's for sure. If they weren't genetically skinny, they couldn't do that job... I mean, their life is so exhausting and they really need energy, go to the castings, and to the gym, etc etc... And imagine a diet for your whole life- no way!
They have to renounce of some kind of food, eg. junk food and similars, but that's normal imo, really no one should eat these things, especially not people who earn money their body and look...
And just look at the celebs- when an actress/singer/etc puts on some weight, it can be very little, the first thing the media says it she must be pregnant, and if she isn't, how bad she looks because she became 'fat'... The same goes with losing weight, just then the media says it must be because she's ill/has eating disorders... I think most of the problems are because of the media, because these celebrities don't have to be that skinny, sometimes even skinnier than models...

I saw a documentary last week about young girls with anorexia...not one girl mentioned models when talking about thier illness....and even the director of made no such links.
Was that "I'm a Child Anorexic"?

I didn't see it, but there was a good quote from one of the girls.
Natasha, who is only 12 years old said:
""[The media's] story is people get anorexia because they want to be thin and they see other people in magazines and on the catwalk and they think 'I want to be like that'," she says.

"That's a really good story and why would they change it - it's a perfect story. But it's not the truth. Maybe for some people it is, but I know that for me it's not. I haven't got anorexia because I've been inspired to look like other people. It's the image in my head. There's no one that's my idol."

So, what you're saying is that all 6' women are naturally skinny? As in skinny to the point that they're the same weight (or less) as a healthy-slim 5-footer? Doesn't make much sense to me.

^ Ok, I take back what I said, but I think there is an element of truth in it, a taller person is more likely to be slimmer than a short person, and anyway, If were both talking about women, then models wont be an 'average thickness' as models are usually girls who havent fully grown yet.

I just noticed I used the word 'skinny' on the page before, I didnt mean that, I meant 'slim' - I guess theres not much difference, but slim suggests a healthy weight, whilst skinny suggests slightly under...

Yes thats the one...it was a great documentary...it gave an insight into the real reasons of anorexia and what was refreshing was that nobody placed a blame, each girl had their own reasons and issues as to why they became anorexic.

My original point which I have made many times is ...What pleasure do people get posting a picture of a model/celeb and trying to put whatever diagnosis on them

Ashley does look skinnier than she used to, from the front at least. Her butt looks perfectly healthy, though

I noticed Ashley looked like she was dropping weight starting a few months ago, maybe. She definitely must have, even if it was just a little bit. It's very noticable in her legs.

Now that those pictures of her in Mexico? Is it? Came out recently, you can really see that she has infact, lost a bit of weight.
