Yeah, I know plenty of tall girls and they're not super skinny! One girl at my school is 6'2" and while she's by no means fat, or even chubby, she's broad. WHen girls are that tall, they tend to have larger skeletons to support their tall frame. I haven't met a lot of super-skinny tall women. But they do tend not to show weight gain. If a 5'11" girl gains 5 pounds, it's a lot less obvious then on someone who is 5'2".

^Yeah, I am 5' 11.5" [though, I have small bone structure] and when I "hit puberty" or w/e I gained 15 pounds but only went from a size 2 pants to a size 4. It made almost no difference whatsoever. & most of the tall people I meet are either of the extremes, super thin or fat. LIke any other height, it just depends on habits and genetics.

Very true. As someone who is 5'1", I know that a mere five pounds makes a world of a difference in comparison to a 5'11" girl. (Although I've yet to actually meet someone that tall.)

i'm fed up, it's getting to the point where it's distracting from the clothes. it is NOT VISUALLY APPEALING IN THE LEAST. people's eyes have grown accustomed to it, how sick. their elbows point out, their thighs are thinner than their calves...it's GROSS! i lose my appetite everytime i see vlada, snejana, irina, hana or the like. and all of these little girls at the forum worship them with those stupid 'model' signatures. it's so funny, you always see the skinniest grouped together!

I'm not gonna lie; I am pretty much nullified when in comes to pictures of ultra skinny girls, but if I think beyond the surface I realize, woah, that isn't normal. I have noticed the groupings thing, as well.

I feel the same way as you do, which is why I have never listed any models in my signature.

I so agree! It does desensitize you to the thin extremes. And no, not all models have EDs, and they do not by any means cause EDs, but it is giving young girls sick ideas about what is normal, healthy and/or beautiful. I talk to a girl who is 12, 5'6" and 88 lbs. and she's convinced herself that she is not skinny. She loves girls like Snejana and Vlada, and thinks that women like America Ferrera and Jennifer Hudson are unattractive and fat. It's really sad!

My original point which I have made many times is ...What pleasure do people get posting a picture of a model/celeb and trying to put whatever diagnosis on them
From articles I read the girls sounded so insightful and intelligent for their age. I wish I had seen it.

Well, I posted a picture of Olga a few pages back, and I can say that I found no pleasure in doing so whatsoever. The only feelings that I felt that compelled me to post it was shock of how thin she was.

^ Yes, and people don't necessarily want to "diagnose" anyone. That's not the point, I highly doubt that anyone here wants to play doctor. THis is the only place we can discuss weight in any respect, so if you want to say "Dear Lord, look how much weight she's lost!", you have to come here, rather than that person's thread.

although i understand the use of skinny models on the runway, i would never actually want to look like them. the old school and VS models, (who doesn't want gisele's or nadja's body?), yes, but not the new girls coming in.

I complete agree with you up to your point about the these 'little girls at the forum who worship them with those stupid 'model' signature'

Look, you may not like the way they look but there is no point in demeaning their fans. Most of them are highly intelligent and are undeserving of being branded 'little girls' Just because you don't like the way they look doesn't mean that other TFSers cant show support for them. There is no need to call model signatures stupid.

It's odd to see the difference between the girls with a bit more meat on their legs and thighs (like Agyness, Heather, Bette, Coco) and their skinnier legged counterparts. I have this weird aversion to knees (I don't fear feet, I fear knees LOL), which is probably why I can't like some of the thinnest girls. It's kind of hypocritical because I love Irina, who has razor shapr knees
