She didn't look like a "fat pig". It's just that her body was sloppy. She knew that she had to do a performance that could possibly make or break her chances for a comeback, and yet she still looked a hot mess on stage. And you can't pull that "she had two kids" stuff on me, because she had ample time to get back into shape, a pop star like her needs to get back in shape, and she was partying all the time. So I don't see an excuse.

^well either get in shape or wear a more suitable outfit.... to me anyone would look bad in the aoutfit thought because it's so trashy

and after doing some quick research/googling :P
i'm fairly certain that the elbow joint measured reveals bone structure/frame size... and that having biceps or upperarms remarkably skinnier than yer elbow joint is a sign of being (really?) underweight.

although, in general i do agree that there are multiple physical diagnostic things to look for, but i think that this elbow joint is much more telling than being able to see a few ribs or really subjective ideas of unhealthy looking legs (esp. when speaking about models or celebs who are still developing!).


and i agree, britney was not FAT, but she should've worn the coset that supposedly went with that shoddy outfit.
and keira knightley in some of the pics from the Silk premiere looks awful... like a bobble head.

Yeah, the elbow joint is larger than the humerus and ulna/radius so when it's the largest part of the arm, that shows that the person has pretty much no fat or muscle tone in their upper arms. I don't know why, but I find the huge elbow/skinny arms thing (along with visible ribs) the most disturbing thing on a person.

I think it's b/c even though you know it won't happen...
it looks like the person's arm is about to snap.

I really find it disturbing that models who manage to get/or are insanely thin have the most sucessful seasons...whether it be runway or campaign wise (case in point: Natasha Poly)..If the industry keeps reinforcing this by rewarding these girls then i don't see anything changing anytime soon..

Oh...and i find it highly hypocritical of the organizers of London Fashion week that are banning models that they deem to be too "skinny" by their standards...when we all know that the rule doesn't apply to the bigger models who are represented in by the more well-known agencies. Olga and Vlada will be all over London again

In general, this thread is not what is used to be. While there are still alot of insightful posts, they are often overlooked because of the immaturity that we have been seeing so much of here.

But more importantly, Carter claims that it wasn't until hearing this that she realized she was too thin and needed to confront her own eating disorders.

From the inside it feels like London agencies are cracking down on this super-skinny idea and therefore the rest of the world is somehow listening...

"[Being told to gain weight was like a] psychological wall coming down. It helped me finally to realise that I was too thin. I was impressed that an agency was actually addressing my well-being."
