I'm so sick of hearing "but what if the model really is naturally that emaciated? It's unfair to ban her!" Even if it is unfair, it's even more unfair to the young women watching the show to be subjected to that sort of thing. The sickly model look is bad for models, it's bad for fashion, and most of all, it's bad for women. Oh, poor model. You know what? Poor us!

She was the most booked model at the fashion week and that has a reason.
And I guess that reason is her body.

You know, I read people justifying these pitiful and pathetic models, saying they are naturally thin, broad shouldered and pre-pubesent - the truth of the matter is that they are starving themselves to get work and to benefit the very industry that incourages and invites this for their own self serving needs and it just has to stop. Look at what has happened to perfectly beautiful girls and women - what they do to satisfy these rediculus stylists and designers. Maybe it is time to boycott the designers and for everyone to write to their political representatives and make our voices LOUDER!!! Enforce BMI and age restrictions. It's not just for the sake of the models but for all of us regular peeps who have such a hard time feeling good about ourselves because it projects such an unrealistic and unhealthy view of what people really are and should look like. Lets take the time and energy we put into watching and posting here, and bring it to the forefront. STOP THIS MADNESS!!! Write to the politcal people who can help to make a change! TFSers have a solidarity that can help effect a change - Lets all channel that power! Write to your representatives! Turn the gossip into power!

That´s a fantastic idea.
Between,I did not justify Lily Donaldson´s skinniess, when I spoke of her broad shoulders.I said that her thin body looks weird with broad shoudlers like that. And I doubt she´s naturally that emaciated.
Do you know who to write to?I am from Germany and I am not sure who is responsible for models like Olga Sherer and co.The designers, the agents....???Maybe we could write to magazines too?

I don't think doing individual writing would really sway anyone, mail/emails are screened by people before they reach editor's and designers and such. If you write anything it wont reach the attention of anyone who has the power in such matters. Even organizing a website or a thousand people petition style wont reach them. Hence why organizations like PETA actually physically appear and make demonstrations outside anna wintour's office and resort to physical harassment and still nothing happens.
Truth of the matter is, people with power in the fashion industry only turn ears to other people with power in the fashion industry. Chances of them acting on it are slim unless it directly affects them. Such as Donatella Versace's daughter being hospitalized for eating disorders, that impacts. Opinions of people outside of media, not so much. Getting a media figure to take up your cause would be more fruitful.

That is so true, the fashion business only listens to the fashion business.

^ same with Olga. Damn, she's such a lovely lady, but she completely turns me off with that body. It's even worse than I ever thought of Snejana And she was my epitome of skinniness some time ago
