Exactly. In the first, her shoulder is drawn further back ... making the skin looser on her back and enabling all the bones to poke through and reveal themselves. In the second her back/shoulders are a littler more rounded, making her skin stretch taut to keep everything under wraps ...

aside from the difference between how she's holding her shoulders, the light on the 'scary' image is coming at her back from more of an angle... highlighting all the contours of her back. the other one is more diffused and coming from a similar place as the camera. she is tinytiny either way.

I saw gemma on the street yesterday. I wouldn't use the word "thin" to describe her, but she's so tall and well proportioned that she has a great body no matter how much she weighs. I think that's true of most models and it makes me sad that they are all so thin right now.

Also, I'll admit that i'm among the people who thought gemma doesn't look as good now as she used to. She still looks GREAT. She was standing with her back to me and I only saw the back of her from the corner of my eye as I passed, but something was so striking about her that I literally stopped and turned around to get a better look at her- without even knowing it was her!

Either due to them changing it on purpose or well, I know personally all of my comp cards in the different agencies in Europe are different from each other in one way or another. The measurements tend to be a little off for all of them as if they're guessing (assuming because I was never measured for any of my european agencies when I was signed to them.) If you ever compare a model's comp cards you're sure to find differences, from eye color, measurements, height, whatever.
It's a general rule that agency's wont put anything above a 35 hip on a comp card though even if the model is above it. No one really asks and I've never seen it to be a problem either.

there are a lot of very tall models who do have 33 hips though simply because their body structure is just genetically like that, 'specially the younger girls. "Boy hips"

i see! thanks so much for clearing that up, I knew they couldn't all be 33, 24, 34 inch robots, when you can clearly see that on the runway, their bodies are all a little different.

Many models start when they are younger and the measurements are never changed on the updated comps.

It's like when you get your driver's license and you lie about your weight as a teenager and then you never change it! (OK, maybe that's just me? )

Brittany Snow: Dieting Was 'My Best Friend'

Brittany Snow's descent into the dark world of eating disorders began when she landed the role of Susan Lemay on TV's Guiding Light, the actress, now 21, tells MTVU.com.

"I remember looking around at all these women who were on the soap opera who were working out and dieting," Snow says.

Taking their cue, a 12-year-old Snow tried her first diet, called Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type. "I took it to the extreme," the Hairspray star admits, which included a two-month stint when she "lived on pineapple."

After losing 10 lbs. on the diet, Snow says she heard compliments and felt accepted by those around her. Soon it was a feeling she couldn't get enough of.

"It kind of progressed into this thing where I needed to always be dieting and losing weight and more weight," she says in the site's interview series Half of Us, which addresses mental health issues and ways to get help. "It became my life and I didn't have any friends and this was definitely my best friend and I held on to it really tight."

At 15, Snow was stepping onto the scale 10 to 15 times a day and weighed only 85 lbs.

"I knew that was a really low number and I knew that my hair was falling out and I had really weird skin. My face looked really weird and I was getting this fuzz on my face and I was always cold – always to the point of uncontrollably shaking," she says. " But "I was more scared that 85 lbs. wasn't good enough. I wanted to be lower."

Rock bottom came when Snow began cutting herself. "I would look at the scars and what I had done to myself and that would convince me not to eat," she says. "I also was crying for attention and I also really wanted someone to see my scars and help me and give me a hug."

By 19, Snow was in rehab and things took a turn for the better. She stopped cutting and got help for her depression. "But the eating stuff was still really hard to deal with," she says. "It's still a struggle."

Her advice to girls who are going though a similar situation is to take baby steps. "It's very important to talk to anybody. Maybe the first step is just to talk to a friend about it," she says. "Probably they'll relate in some way."
