obviously, you never been to any of the NY Fashion Shows on Fashion Week nor any of the European shows. There is a big difference. And it is evident in person.

I want to see what the clothes would look like on me. And if you can't put a size 10 girl on the runway...at least attempt to put a size 4-6. Because not many people can say they look like hanger.

Dont forget: the camera adds ten pounds!
the way i see it the camera is angled slightly high, thus making the head bigger than the body. just like when a casting director takes pola models. slight distortion. just a tad slight...

Just because I have never seen a fashion show live doesn't demean the fact that they shouldn't be living hangers. Unless models such as Olga magically gain 10 pounds 'in person' ...I would see no difference. Besides we are not going of personal meetings. The fact of the matter is fashion (runway photographs) are distributed in magazines. It is not how they look in person (and I doubt many look healthier than they do in pictures) but how they do on the runway and pictures. That is what runway fashion is.

My post was about how runway models shouldn't be 'hangers', because thats what the stores are for. Can you elaborate on the big difference...the big difference of what? Models should be slender...but not to the point of emaciation.

Yeah, that's true. I don't think there's any immediate danger for her. She's following an extreme (I mean, she has a body of one in a couple of tens of thousands) but normal growth curve. Thank god for that, I want her to be around 4ever, she's that good.

Montreal Fashion Week 2007 made headlines around the globe last week. It wasn't trendsetting creations generating the fashion frenzy. The buzz was all about Montreal's leadership as the first Fashion Week in North America to impose a minimum weight and age limit on models.
Designers were warned that any models under 16 years old and with an unhealthy body mass index would be removed from the runways and redirected to medical professionals.
Even though Montreal is certainly no Paris or New York...it still indicates that all is not lost. But of course the problem remains. How can these rules be enforced and the argument we keep going back to 'is banning thin models actually a good idea or discrimination?'. Well, my stance is that models should be thinner than the average woman and slender. However that line has definatly being crossed.

It just frustrating because while the proposers of BMI have the right idea in mind...they are picking battles the wrong way. Some people lose arguments simply because they are arguing/advocating a wrong thing. BMI does have flaws and since thats all the bans include, its easy for those in fashion to simply disregard their ideas....despite the intentions. One look at a model like Olga should send red flags. I believe its the overall effect a model has. When watching fashion shows, I could care less about BMI...but about the image they portray.

I am shocked how dellusional people are in this thread. Calling Vlada "beautiful and fragile" makes me shudder. Have you people lost any sense of what is "healthy"? There are millions, millions of people starving to death on this planet and we praise those completely anorexic model-bodys for being perfect? Where has this world come to ?
