hummm.... i guess if the high fashion models do have some traces of Marfan's Syndrome and here they are gorgeous , beautiful creatures, with unusual long limbs, small build and incredibly leggy , perhaps it's a disorder every girl would love to have! lol what an interesting find. well, Watsons, i think we got ourselves a discovery in the gene pool!

I know you aren't being 100% serious lol, but just for the record, Marfan's Syndrome can have some quite serious health issues associated with it... So despite the long limbs etc, I don't think I'd exactly want it.

well definitely models don't seem to have 100% of Marfan Syndrome since lungs are affected and 99.9% of them smoke. lol ... just dont know about the eyes... hmmm wonders how many wear prescription glasses.

It's sort of a tricky subject, Marfan Syndrome. Supposedly you can live a healthy life with the disease, but I doubt you could do most of the things an average model does. From About.com:

There is no cure for Marfan syndrome, but with good medical care most people can live a normal lifespan. The biggest threat to people with the syndrome is the sudden tearing of the aorta, a medical emergency which can be fatal. Therefore, close monitoring by a cardiologist and surgical repair of a weak aorta will save many lives. Blood pressure medications can also reduce stress on the aorta, as can avoiding strenuous exercise and contact sports.

It's still an interesting thought to ponder, though!

That said, I have seen pics before of a pretty girl before who apparently has Marfan's Syndrome, and my first thought was definitely, wow she could be a model with those limbs!

well, if someone could be president and have the condition, I'm pretty sure someone could model with it

with that said, I don't know if there are any models with it because it can lead to some disfigurement. being really tall and lanky isn't the only physical feature associated with it

Wow. All of a sudden I'm wondering if any models are descendants of Abraham Lincoln!

But I'm sure you all know people who could almost model - people who have the height but not the build. For example, one of my best friends is 6' tall but she has a very broad build. She modeled when she was a teen but no matter how much weight she lost now she would never have small bone structure.

And then there's the ones with the build and sadly, not the face.
