This girl, Nataliya, is incredibly slim, but she looks healthy. I bet she doesn't eat a lot, but maybe she's eating the right things. I'm not sure what she actually does... but she's got great skin.

I bet alot of the models are leading unhealthy lifestyles, not just eating right... champagne and, um, other popular pass times for the wealthy are famous for making the slim even slimmer.

^ I think it was removed because the mod thought the picture was photoshopped.

Sadly, the image wasn't. It's from the Guy Laroche SS07 show.

Click Here for a Direct link to the GettyImages Page With the Picture.

I'm not sure if that's the one that was posted, but it is probably the most infamous. If that's not it, just go to GettyImages and search "Guy Laroche". (Mods - if it was removed for another reason [not photoshop], then please edit this post and remove the link)

there's a reason people do that - females are built differently than males. if a girl has twig legs it comes off as unnatural looking , where as if a guy has twig legs it could very well be the way he's meant to be built.

That Snejana candid (if I recall correctly) was taken right after the FW 2006 Versace show. Did you guys see how much heavy, dark eye makeup the girls had on...and there are photographs of all the girls having panelled hair extensions...then factor in, dark light, extreme tiredness (i'm guessing Snejana did several shows that day, as is common). It's really no wonder she looks worn out.

If you got to threads in the Skin Care section of TFS, you'll find many discussions about eye bags etc. It's utterly common, and people are always searching for the ultimate glow to their skin. But as has been discussed, models leave a very erratic lifestyle. Constant travel, poor diet, stress...just because they're models, does not mean they should be exempt. These things happen to everyone. Everyone knows that the image on runways, magazines, and music videos is far from real, so let's be sensible about what a person, no matter how gorgeous or ugly you think she is, looks like at the end of a long and tiring day.

And what I mean about personal attacks - you can either be of the opinion that models are hangers for the clothes, in which case you judge only the clothes. Or, if you're interested in models, you think also (though hopefully not exclusively) about how the clothes look on them. I'm not suggesting that you can not judge on appearance, but I worry that some of the comments are slipping into judgements about character that we can have no possible idea of. That's unfair and uncalled for.

^ indeed and might I add that this thread is for scrutinizing weight... not skin. and even if they are linked in SOME cases... we have no idea of knowing if Snejana's "green" skin is linked to anything other than fatigue/makeup. so lets not guess about it

this is completly ridiculous---no one was making personal character attacks based on her body's condition--- people were merely extrapolating what her condition was. these models make---especially snejana, 50,000 plus during fashion week, and take home thousands more via ad camoaigns. i am sure all her money can cushion her fall. plus the amount of pro-ana teen sites using her pics for thinspiration on the web, how encouraging they find her images---its worth wondering, what exactly does she represent? to some degree, snejana and the others are social actors. they are selectively picked by fashion's elite to sell a specific image. if it makes you soo uncomfortable to theorize on what is going on --- and for people to say---"she may not be eating" maybe you should cover your eyes, as this is the model &celeb weight thread.

Please do not for a moment think that I am naive to the social consequences of the issue we are trying to discuss. I know there are highly vulnerable people, on both ends of the weight scale, and I do believe that the images that are presented to society are worth commenting on, it's a healthy and necessary debate.

But I also believe that I shouldn't be exempt from this thread just because I have the opinion that models are humans too. You ask what does she represent? Yes, as a model, she is asked to represent a 'brand' - Gucci, Prada, Valentino...but she's also more than the sum of her parts. We all are.

I am glad we have the opportunity at TFS to express our opinions - now I hope we can move this discussion into a wider sphere.

Bravo! There is more to any model -- or person, for that matter -- than meets the eye.

Agree ^ I dont actually think she looks that bad, for her collarbones maybe she is just a little tense.
